The Hilltop Restaurant — Restaurant in Sanbornton

The first night we arrived to NH, We had a great server with great service. She told us we wouldn’t see her the rest of the week, because of her sons 1st birthday party. The only issue we had was a miscommunication of ordering but it was no problem at all.

The second time we ate here, we had garrett (the manager). Food was great, drinks were great, and service was great.

3rd time: we ordered 2 milkshakes and 2 trays of fries at the pool and only received the 2 milkshakes and 1 tray of fries

4th time: Ordered 3 milkshakes and only received 2 of the milkshakes

5th time: We went back and ordered takeout after a nice day at the pool. We ordered with megan. We ordered a buffalo chicken wrap with only chicken, cheese and lettuce and then an avocado, turkey and bacon sandwich with no mayo. We received our order and headed back to the room, where we opened the food to find the wrap was loaded with ranch and the sandwich has mayo on it. We head back to the restaurant where Megan fixes it and tells us she double checked it and it’s all correct. As we sit down to eat there is no fries in the TBA sandwich and the wrap is now double loaded with ranch. We call the restaurant and ask for megan, who tells us the kitchen didn’t give us fries for the TBA sandwich because we “ate them all” and that she would send someone to fix the sandwich or we could have a “comp” by her manager. She stated she’d send french fries, a new wrap and a free dessert for the issues. A man shows up with the food and there is a box of fries and a buffalo wrap with no sides attached and no dessert. I tell the man all is good because this is now the 3rd time i’ve had to speak with these individuals and I’m not going to send it back a 4th time.

Something at this establishment needs to be fixed between order issues and customers as I am incredibly disappointed with the way they run their show over there.

Lastly, During our 3rd visit with milkshakes and french fries... One of the delivery people asked my 2 youngest nephews (12 and 9) some very concerning questions… These questions were as follows “how old are you” “how tall are you” “where are you staying” “where are you going to be tomorrow” “how long are you staying” and so on and so forth untill the oldest decided to go tell a parent and they left the pool.

I am very disappointed in how our food and delivery services are going. I will not be returning inside or ordering to room/pool again. This place needs major upgrades and or fixes in the process of how they run/train employees and how to speak to customers/...

Would not recommend.... Our party of 7 decided to try the restaurant at the resort instead of venturing back into town. The hostess asked if we had a reservation, and we were concerned that because we didn't, that we wouldn't get a seat, however, she said that it wasn't a problem and they fit us in right away. I'm always in awe when the servers can take orders without writing anything down, but I should have known better, because a few min after taking all of our orders, she came back to the table to say she forgot what two of us ordered. At one point, not counting the bar area, it was just us and one other table of folks. The service was EXTREMLY slow. The food finally came out and the majority of our orders were not correct. The pepperoni pizza we ordered came out as cheese, I didn't get the avacado added onto my grilled chicken like I asked. Another person didn't get the gluten free bun for her chicken sandwich...in fact, it came out plated without a bun, so she had to ask the waitress to bring the gluten free bun back. One of the steaks that was ordered medium came out well done (there was no pink in it). She had a mishap with the salad dressings, so she needed to go back and get them all, even though she had already delivered our salads. When she returned with the dressings, my sister asked, where is my gluten free bun....she had forgotten that..again. She realized everything was all messed up, so she did redeem herself by offering dessert. The food lacked flavor. There was only one person in our party who didn't complain- and he had ordered wings. From the time we entered the dining room until the time we got the checks to leave, it was a full 2 hours. The prices were high, and we even had a $25 resort gift card to use towards our purchase. The food flavor and slowness of service did nothing to make us want to return again. So...even if you get a promo gift card to use there, I would suggest venturing back to town and spend your money on...

We have been to many resorts. We spent 15 minutes waiting til I had to get up and ask to be served. Waitress came over and took food order then walked away without taking drink order. She came after putting food order in and said she didn’t know where her head was. Drinks and salads came. Salads were very good. When the meals finally came after seeing multiple parties who came after us had already eaten only 3 of the meals came my was the salad with steak tips did not come out and the waitress asked about it and they said in front of us it was not made. She left came back 5 minutes later and told us the steak tips were not done enough so they had to take it back and cook them longer. Did we really need to be lied to? We have allergies and when asked to check ice cream while getting refills she forgot and said again not sure where her head was. We didn’t bother with deserts. When I got the salad they did not provide steak knife when she came asked if I would want one I said yes she disappeared again so did stop eating using butter knife and by the time she came back 10 minutes later I was finished and again said I’m not sure where my head was! This was the worst service we have ever seen. If you have Kiley for your waitress ask for someone else. We did like the food it was very good but for what we paid you would expect some customer service. Prices were too high for the menu offered I can see why it is not very busy poor service and over priced. We will never eat here again. Too bad the resort is beautiful would be better if you could take your family for a meal just...
