I visit Santa Barbara every so often and always give myself enough time before my flight to have lunch at this sweet little spot. Today I was saddened. There was a line to be seated because there were no tables. Getting seated was pretty quick just felt very stressful. The manager Gary was gruff, and managed all of us paying customers like we were his herds of cows, and that it was just a problem that he had to be dealing with us. No smile, no welcone, no thank you for coming. I guess because we are in an airport with nowhere else to go you can have managers act that way to the paying customers? Can't even imagine how he treats his staff! The wait staff was professional, courteous and working their butts off. I'm sure it's hard for them to go straight to a customer that has already been made to feel bad, but my server Amy was great! She got to me in a timely manner, with a smile! I could tell she was working really hard but did not pass that stress on to me as the customer. The restaurant does not have a sign that says wait to be seated so the manager would dissapear and people would just be standing in the line waiting looking at the empty some dirty some clean tables. One couple decided to just sit down and it was ok, the next couple that did it the manager reprimanded saying they needed to get back up and leave until the table was clean! Just really really rude. I was sitting right by the gate so heard all of the customers confused about what to do and how hard they saw the wait staff working and how rude the manager was. It's hard to believe the airport keeps a guy managing that probably makes his staff so miserable. The turn over rate must be probably crazy in staff. I will say my...
Read moreWow! I’m so impressed!!! We usually don’t have time to stop here before or after a flight into or out of Santa Barbara Airport. Today we decided to get to the airport early and enjoy some downtime before our flight back to Portland.
The employees are so lovely!! Karina was our server tonight and she made us feel so welcome and took great care of us. She is very sweet and attentive.
We had a couple of margaritas. My daughter had the mango and I had the blood orange. They did not disappoint!! Also, their prices are very reasonable. Margaritas are only $11! The tortilla chips are freshly prepared and absolutely amazing.
We loved the Caesar salad and sweet potatoes fries!
Tonight’s special was tri-tip tacos. 3 tasty and generous sized tacos! Delicious!
We did not order wine but can attest to the generous wine pours.
Our flight was delayed and they stayed open later to accommodate the stressed, hungry and thirsty travelers.
I didn’t get the name of the bartender- he was fantastic too!
We will definitely make this part of our...
Read moreI have flown in and out of Santa Barbara for years!!!! I always looked forward to stopping and getting a quick bite at Costa Terraza. This morning I had to catch a flight and didn't have a whole lot if time. Sat down and ordered an ice tea. The table was soaked from the tea sweating. I asked for a napkin. No service! I ordered my food from the owner who seemed so upset with life. What a jerk! My bagel sandwich was so cold. The cheese was just thrown and not melted and the bacon was cold. I asked for eggs over medium. They were hard as rocks and cold! One server and him. He was not nice to anyone. I was afraid to ask for anything. The girl that was serving was so overwhelmed. I would have walked out if I were employed there. He was so frustrated with the very young Asian girls that came in. They didn't speak English and didn't understand. He told them to just sit down! I will never go back. Don't waste your money! Pick something up on your way. So disappointed! Get up earlier and stop at Garrett's or Cajun Kitchen for real food...
