Carl's Jr. — Restaurant in Santa Clarita

First I’d like to clarify that the review is not about the quality of food that we ordered and ate or the service that we received from the onsite staff. This is what happened: We went in for our usual bi-weekly meeting and after a couple hours, as we were breaking up and leaving, I decided to order something to go for my son. I had been to the bank only half an hour prior to going to Carl’s in Burbank for lunch with no other stops on the way to Carl’s. I only had a $100. bill. Nothing smaller. I gave my assistant the $100. bill to pay for and pick up my order for my son and gave me back the exact change with the matching receipt and four crispy 20’s plus more. We immediately went straight to my doctors appointment and when I tried to pay my copayment with one of the $20 bills from Carl’s they rejected it stating that it was not real US currency. I had to pay with my credit card at KP and I called to Carl’s that only has a recording, I wasn’t able to speak to a live person,so without success, I decided to wait until the next meetup. I went to the supposed manager and her response was “Sorry.” I called the numbers to supposedly the owner and HQ with no help. Only recordings with no one from Carl’s calling back or cared about a good 40 year customer or wanted to keep a good customer that was cheated, a happy returning customer. The manager refused to assist me or swap out the bad bill that I had verified by chase bank as being illegal tender and they wanted to collect it. I declined giving the bill to Chase because I wanted to return it to Carl’s and get my money returned. They said that all businesses should use one of those special pens that indicates immediately the credibility of the bill. The manager didn’t use that tool and probably took the bill from a crook inadvertently and passed it on to ME the customer. Not one person from Carl’s Jr. cares about customer satisfaction. 😡NOT ONE!

5/23/19- I don’t know why this post came into my FB live feed now months later, but I want to clarify that where this happened was not on San Fernando in Newhall. As I wrote in my post that it was in Burbank on Hollywood Way and Verdugo , which has since this “rip off” closed down. 3.9 Stars as of this Review, which sadly is Not surprising. It's Not so much the restaurant itself, although this one is one of the Dirtiest I've been to, but more so the pricing. What happened to the days when you could get a Six Dollar Burger for around $4. Now they've not just reached the $6 Mark, but have surpassed it by Several Dollars More!! In fact, have you seen the menu at Carl's Jr. Lately?? You'd think it's the year 2119!!! Everything is astronomically High there. So much so, to take my family or 5 out to dinner here, I'll have to take a Second on my Mortgage!! Geeez. In addition, don't try using the bathroom here. After acquiring a coin to use it, prepare for some UnImaginable sights and smells. It's as though they want you to vomit what you just ate, if you use the bathroom after eating. Or in my case, run for the hills instead of ordering off their Unbelivable Priced Meni, because of the Pure Nastiness that I saw in their bathroom. Anyway you cut it, I'd drive a few miles further north and hit the In & Out @ Sand Canyon. Yes, there will probably be a line out the door, or cars for days in the drive thru, but there, you will get a fairly priced burger, fries and shake AND you won't need a coin to use their bathroom, which also won't look like 500 inmates in County, just used it. I came to Carl’s Jr. today for international burger day to try my luck at the great deal they’re offering! Anyhow, my experience was rather good. I have been to a different Carl’s Jr. where I got a moldy bun and that was completely unacceptable. However, this time I came inside and picked up my order and dined in and the food was on point and was made fresh. My fries were good and crispy. The burger was made correctly because I added customizations for extra cheese and lettuce and onions and tomatoes because that’s how I roll and everything was accurate to order. The burger was hot and so were the fries and when I asked for extra barbecue sauce, they accommodated me with no problem. The bathroom was clean enough. I only went into wash my hands, but there was nothing that stood out to me as untidy or dirty The atmosphere is nice. It’s a small building, but there’s plenty of seating, and I found a perfect spot by the window. The only thing I have to complain about is because I made an order through the app they seal it with stickers to make sure it’s not been tampered with when you receive it however, that sticker ripped off part of the top of my drink, and was rather hard to get off so that was annoying, but really of little consequence in the end.
