Came here on the recommendation of Santa Fe Foodies Facebook page, and I was so disappointed by our experience. I brought my 4 children (6m-old twins, 2yr-old, and 6yr-old) and out-of-town friend here, and we were so excited to visit. When we arrived, we asked to be seated out of the way, since my kids can be loud. They seated us outside on the very edge of the patio, which was perfect for what we needed. The servers we interacted with were kind, knowledgeable, and efficient. We ordered burgers, a salad, and a sandwich with fries.

While we waited for our food, we realized that the owners of this restaurant were trying to figure out how to move a large palate of equipment that was directly next to our table of young children. No one said anything to us, so I chose to move my kids to the other side of the table. Did the owners stop when they realized I was concerned for our safety? No. Instead, they decided to use a TRUCK to push the palate closer to my kids (within less than a foot, no joke...) using a piece of wood.

It was so insanely unsafe, but I was willing to just see it as disrespectful and let it go. When they still weren't done after 5 minutes, my guest asked them how much longer they would be putting us in danger. The owners just responded, "in a minute." Our food arrived, and I expressed my upset to our server. She told us "sorry, that was the owner, there isn't anything we can do." No apology, not even a "thank you for understanding," literally no apology at all offered by the owners after our meal was disturbed and a palate of kitchen equipment was shoved towards my children with a truck.

The food was amazing, our servers did the best they could, and the place is adorable. The owners put my family's safety at risk and literally didn't care at all. The owners even smiled the snarkiest smile at us as they left. My guest was so shocked, and we got out of there as quickly as we could.

Avoid this place if you have kids, and avoid this place if you don’t want to support owners that disrespect their customers and don't care about their safety. So thankful the wooden board they used to shove the equipment towards my children with a truck didn’t break and injure them, so thankful all I have is a negative review out of a...

Tesuque restaurant and market has been a frequent stop of ours when visiting Santa Fe. We were most excited to return after a break due to a member of our family being unable to travel during treatment for Cancer. At the first opportunity, we headed to Tesuque to enjoy a meal on their patio as she is still immuno-compromised. When we arrived and asked to be seated outside, we were told they were not serving outside, though the weather was fine. I explained we couldn't eat indoors and was again told that they couldn't accommodate. I was told we could order food to-go and sit outside, but no one would wait on us. We were very disappointed and confused, but went on to have a lovely brunch at BISHOP'S LODGE (see my review) up the road.

We couldn't bear to leave Santa Fe without a meal at Tesuque so, after calling to be sure they were serving lunch on the patio and, being assured that they were at 11:30, we loaded up and made the drive again a couple of days later. We also invited some other members of our party to meet us there. Imagine my dismay when I was told they were NOT serving on the patio at all. I let them know I had called ahead, but they stated they didn't have staff to wait on us. I spoke to the manager, who did admit she was the one who had taken my call and confirmed patio service. I explained the context around our visit and she finally offered to open the garage doors to the patio and seat us at a table right inside them. This was a fair accommodation, but folks, there was a difference of SIX FEET between the table on the patio and the table right inside the wide open doors. In the meantime, another patron in a mask advised us that he had caught Covid there 4 weeks prior. Discouraged and hungry, we chose to have lunch at THE SHED (see my review) instead.

To the manager and staff of Tesuque: I offer this feedback in the hope that you will consider a return to the warm, hospitable, friendly familiarity we have previously enjoyed there. It would have meant a few extra steps for you, and the world for our family. In the future, we will give our service and gratuity to more welcoming...

We asked a friend of ours who lives in the area for a recommendation for a restaurant. She stated there was one that the locals know about, it’s a bit out of town, but it is awesome. That is exactly what we were looking for. It was well worth the drive. As we pulled up, just after lunch it looked like a hippie 60’s hangout. It was delightful! When we walked in there was an outdoor patio, an indoor area with large windows that open and further indoors a well-appointed bar within a market. Incredible! We had a large group with children so we couldn’t sit at the bar, but the adults made a pact to return to enjoy the bar. They had a wood burning oven for their pizzas, but they offer pizzas after 5 pm. Darn. That would be another reason for our return. One of the servers as we walked let us decide where to sit. Which was kind considering our large group and little ones. Two of us ordered a margarita-they were to die for. They were made perfectly! We ordered chips and salsa to get started; they were delicious and……. OH, so good. Our group ordered fish tacos and chicken taco truck tacos that’s it, yup odd- no one had a taste for anything else. The fish was cooked perfectly- moist, flaky and hot. The chicken tacos were flavored well, moist and hot. They were both stellar. Our whole group LOVED the side dish of pinto beans -they were yummy and healthy. The 3-year toddler requested a cheese quesadillas and boy was it cheesy. He finished the plate and enjoyed it. No one tried the quesadillas, but he gave it , 2 thumbs up. We noted the desserts, they looked delicious, but we were so full we couldn’t even consider ordering them. That is another excellent reason to return! This restaurant was wonderful with delicious and out-of-this-world dishes. The wait staff were helpful, kind, and understanding and kept checking on us. This restaurant is a must try and try again. It gets a five star and...

We are traveling through SantaFe and stopped Tesuque Village Market. We have been here before a couple years back. They have gotten rid of their large out door area to add parking. This is an interesting spot with a ton of history. This originated as a village market that has now morphed into a restaurant, bar and bakery. Worth a stop just to see the interesting decor and setting that still has a market inside. This is a super cool atmosphere that takes on the old world design of a 100 year old market inside a traditional setting The food and salsa’s is very good. Well played and presented very nicely. But,a bit over priced in our opinion. Tesuque seems to take advantage of its heritage and now charges prices a bit above their level of service and food to the tourists coming from the Four Seasons up the road. I guess they can! We enjoyed it. But likely won’t go back any longer. Just seems to have gone from a local country market/restaurant that was quaint and traditional (with decent prices) to a restaurant fighting above its weight class with high priced food and drinks. I would rather find the more traditional location that wins on all levels of food and price. Plenty of those around Santa Fe. But we would still recommend people to stop here. It is very much worth a visit.

A local recommended a restaurant to us, and it turned out to be the best food we had during our trip to New Mexico. The beers were just okay, not particularly outstanding, but the food, oh, the food was phenomenal. Every dish we tried was incredibly delicious, and their sauces had a unique and authentic taste. We started our meal with chips, guacamole, and salsa. The salsa was exceptional, with perfectly balanced spice levels that added just the right amount of kick. Next, we had chicken strips served with both honey and BBQ sauce. Both sauces were fantastic, complementing the very tender and flavorful chicken beautifully. The shrimp tacos were a delight, bursting with fresh flavors. The chicken quesadillas were perfectly cooked and filled with tasty, well-seasoned chicken. We also tried their oven-brick made vegetarian pizza, which was incredibly good. Although the toppings were a bit pricey, we opted for just one topping, and it was still fantastic. The restaurant is conveniently located on the way back to Santa Fe from Bandelier National Monument, making it a perfect stop after a day of exploring. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was friendly and efficient. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

As a native Texan, born and raised on the meaty traditions of Texas chili, I feel compelled to speak on what can only be described as a culinary bait-and-switch. When I saw “Texas Chili” on the menu, my excitement was palpable. But when the dish arrived, I was immediately stunned and offended by what was in front of me. Beans. An avalanche of beans. Pinto, black, kidney, every legume known to man had seemingly found its way into this bowl. The bean-to-meat ratio was something like 10:1, which, in Texas, isn’t just wrong, it’s sacrilegious. Texas chili does not have beans. That’s not an opinion, that’s a fact. Now, here’s the twist: the chili actually tasted amazing. The spice was spot-on, the flavor rich and layered, and if it had been listed as “Hearty Bean Chili” or just “Chili,” I’d be singing a completely different tune. I’d happily have given it 4 stars. But calling this “Texas Chili” is false advertising, plain and simple, if I had a lawyer then I’d sue. So, respectfully, I give your chili 2 stars, one for the deliciousness, and one for the potential. But let me be clear, rename the dish, and this has the potential to be a 4+ star chili. Texas chili deserves respect. And beans deserve their own lane. Do better by the name.
