Ranch House Restaurant — Restaurant in Santee

My family and I have been frequent customers of the Ranch House Restaurant, especially on Fridays for their fish fry. Unfortunately, my family and I experienced an humiliating and descriminatory evening from the owner himself. Upon asking for a third refill of fish, I was approached by the manager. His statement was as follows: "Sir, would you mind paying extra for a refill, because you are peeling the skin off the fish and it costs us a lot." Needless to say, I was caught off guard as I have been doing so for years now at this establishment. In short, he humiliated me in front of other guests, while being descriminatory towards my gluten allergy. In addition, the restaurant has lost long time customers by being insensitive, humiliating, and descriminatory. I went here this past Saturday and ordered the all you can eat fish fry. It was just ok. Fish was on the outside kinda greasy but inside it was tender and flaky inside. My friend had the bean w/ bacon soup which we thought was kinda tasteless and we all thought that it came out of a can. The meal comes with cornbread that was ok but tasted like it too was from a mix and not from scratch. Server was very nice but we had to remind her that the coleslaw for the fish fry dinner was missing for both me and my friend and she also missed bringing out the corn which looked good but it was frozen. She said that usually it comes with corn on the cob but they were out. Over all I wouldn't go back as there's so many other places that make their items from scratch and not from cans. I gave 2 stars since the waitress let us substitute baked potato for the fries. Potatoes were held way too long...

I have been going to the Ranch house for many years. However today was the last. The waitress was rude. I asked to substitute something and that was a hard NO. Once my toast and my husbands omelet came, we asked for silverware and napkins. She came back and tossed them. My husband asked what was wrong with his omelet, as it looked as if it was dropped. And she said that we were fishing for free food! I got up and said I had enough and would not be eating here. As I walked to the register she yelled at me and threatened me that I don’t know who her family is and they would find me. It was a complete disaster!And I paid for a meal that wasn’t even touched.
