The Santee swap meet was a solid 4, sometimes 3, stars, a place to go and sell stuff off, you had good & mediocre stuff to buy, a treasure here or there(at a decent price)
they touched up the grounds that was nice, since I sold there a couple times I never used the restrooms because I was so busy, I was told they were rather filthy though, there were some occasions with an older clean up crew member that was extremely rude and slightly hostile, not sure if he’s still there as of the start of 2018
then it became more a pain to sell at the swap meet with slight increase for sellers entrance fee, they allowed singe large moving trucks in the truck & trailer area that took up a ton of spaces, I may be good with a trailer but if you’re not an early seller I can understand it being hard
I leave at 3:30 in the morning just to make it at 5am to hopefully get a space I wouldn’t get stuck in, the moving truck business made that hard, the moving truck should be the middle lanes & take up both side spaces to make it easier on everyone, it’s a lot smarter that way, but I guess that’s too much to ask
Now with seller entrance 1 vehicle = space, with a trailer meaning to buy at least one other $35(Sunday price) space is too much, I think “one space” as two parking spaces is rather fair, I make sure I take my trash, free stuff is always nabbed before I leave, so if other sellers, seems to be ruglars with one moving truck leaving a ton of trash, are raising the price for their lack of manners I shouldn’t have to pay the price
I’m not selling expensive stuff, left over items that have been shifted out, so $70 plus $20-25 gas kicks my butt hard, hopefully this’ll be the last time I need to purge stuff and never have to sell here again, I feel worse for those that try to run a small...
Read moreI didn't shop but instead came as a seller so this review will be for people looking to sell. Awesome!!! I like this swap meet a lot more than spring valley and pretty much neck and neck with kolbys. I arrived at 7:30 am there was very little wait to pay to get in. The place was pretty busy for a "slow" day. There were things being sold before I even had a chance to unload them from the truck! Also your not limited to one parking spot you can use as much space as you need as long as there's a spot between you and your neighbors. Will definitely come again. I was selling power tools furniture and general household items. In the picture im in the last row everything is mostly going on right behind where I stood to take the picture. If your looking to sell i...
Read moreI'm giving this 2 stars because I've only been one time. I went on a Saturday at about 9:30. Maybe this place is better in the morning, as it opens as early as 5am. After reading the reviews, it sounded cool, as they mentioned that it wasn't all Chinese resale stuff. After paying my dollar and parking, I was disappointed to see that less than an 8th of the spaces were filled. The places that had people there were not very enticing. There were the usual used tools and old fixtures from construction demo jobs. Also there was some surplus paper goods and oldish bulk food. I was surprised to see a lot of records sitting out in the hot sun. It seems they would not last long that way. I will probably try again sometime and will update my review if it is...
