First off, Peter, the manager at this location, needs to be commended for his attentive service... too bad he wasnt the one who cooked our food, took our order, or dropped the ball on every aspect of our visit. The store was not busy which left us wondering why we couldnt get our server to stop back and check in on us. We order soda and they tell us they are out of Mello Yello. How do you run out of soda?? Its most likely that noone switched the syrups around, not that they were actually out of Mello Yello. My pancakes and french toast came 7 minutes AFTER my order was put on the table...and were undercooked. Zero follow-thru from any staff (aside from Peter) from that point forward. You would think if you are going to pay $5.50 for two softdrinks that they would, at least, stop by and give you a refill. The server was some young girl with blonde hair. You will know its the same server when she walks away from you in mid-sentence (with a dumbass smirk/smile on her face) when you are deciding on what to order.
We will wait until next spring to revisit this location and - hopefully - Peter has replaced all of the staff we had the misfortune of encountering.
Once again, Peter, thank you for your help in trying to rectify the problems but you cant help it. It wasnt your fault. You cant fix stupid. The food service industry is the most thank-less work a person can be involved with so I feel for them. You have one person who genuinely cares on duty usually mixed with a handful of people who (you can see it on their faces) absolutely want to be doing anything else at...
Read moreWe stopped in yesterday for some breakfast. The Manager on duty was very polite and did let us know that they were quite busy and it would be a while. We were seated and waited 15 minutes before anyone even greeted us or offered to bring us drinks. We would have left but my husband wasn't feeling great and just needed a glass of orange juice. Finally, the kind manager came and took our drink order. I had drank my entire soda and my daughter finished her kids drink before we even got to order. As we were sitting there waiting, another table had been seated after us, greeted right away and drinks out right away. We ordered about the same time as them. Their food came out in a timely fashion while we continued to wait for ours. Once ours did come out, my daughters food was dry and rubbery, mine was cold and my husband ate his but it was cold as well. We were there for an hour and 50 minutes! Like I said, we should have left but my husband is someone who gives people the benefit of the doubt and gives them a chance. As I was checking out the manager was very kind and apologized up and down about the wait, etc. I asked if they were looking to hire more people as we really like Perkins. He stated that was unlikely as upper management just reduced labor in the front of the house. My thoughts? That was a poor move. There are restaurants going out of business all over the area for less than poor service and dried out food. You've got a great location with lots of traffic. I'd step it up! Listen to your great...
Read moreIt has been awhile since my last Perkins experience; and now I remember why I don’t eat at Perkins.
Wait staff, they are friendly but it’s very obvious they are understaffed. Our waitress took our order, dropped the food off with the bill and we didn’t see her again. I had asked for an extra napkin and I had to go get them myself. No one stopped by to see if we needed anything or how our food was.
Food, my and my daughters food was cold (I’m not a fan of cold eggs!) I didn’t eat much of my meal as it was not to my liking (As I knew they wouldn’t be able to meet my expectations, as Perkins is one of the McDonald’s type of sit down chain restaurants.)
Prices, as there were only two of us, our bill was over $40. The food and service were definitely not worth the price. I assume they are tired of hearing complaints about the food and service, because not once did anyone ask us how our food or service was.
Recommendations, find somewhere else to eat like a mom & pop cafe/dinner in the area. This place is not worth the time, food and money.
Perkins menus are not allergy friendly, as they don’t note if certain items are gluten, peanut or other allergen free. You are rolling the dices if you have food allergies by eating here. I did asked for the gluten-free options and the waitress, left and came back to said “we do not have a gluten-free menu” and then proceeded to list off items (eggs, bacon, sausage, hash brown..) that are gluten-free on their menu… I appreciated the effort however it made me even more cautious...
