No. 1 Kitchen Buffet — Restaurant in Sauk City

We had a wonderful dinner while visiting this place for the 1st time. Heard some good things from family and friends about this place and decided to give it a try. I usually would not rate a buffet, but this one was really good! The food was all fresh, tasted great, looked tasty, constantly being brought out of the kitchen by the staff. Best of all was the great selection of classic dishes or seafood to choose from! Some of our favorites were the coconut shrimp, crab ragoon, peanut butter chicken, and so much more. The place was very clean which is another reason why I chose to leave this review. One of the ladies working here was constantly wiping down the tables, the counters, and really paid attention to detail. It was really nice to see that they seemed to care. Not sure how long this place has been here, but we will be back when we have a taste for some well cooked Chinese Food! Try it out for yourself and you will not be disappointed that you went. Very fluffy and perfectly buttery with a crispy outer crust 9.3/10 Baked scallops 4.8/10 Baked mussles 5.5/10 Fried shrimp 5.2/10 Peanut chicken 8.7/10 Egg drop soup 2.8/10 Hot and sour soup 3.4/10 Black paper chicken 3.4/10 Lo mein noodles 7.2/10 General tso's 3.1/10 Beef and mushrooms 7.9/10 Jalapeño chicken 6.8/10 Crab Rangoon. Too much cream cheese 4.8/10 Coconut shrimp. Not what you'd expect. It's basically small fried shrimp tossed in a creamy coconut sauce. This restaurant is one of the best kept secrets in this area. The unassuming building is hiding a 19 year old family run business. We heard about it from a friend and went there for lunch. Holy cow what a wonderful surprise it was. Their lunch offerings were what you might expect to see on a more expensive dinner menu. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious. They have several hot soups, more than two dozen hot food choices, salads and real scooped ice cream, not soft serve from a machine, but like an ice cream parlor.
