Margarita's Deli — Restaurant in Sayreville

While down in Sayreville, doing a little fishing, we decided to stop at a place that we must've passed a million times. It wasn't crowded. Our order was taken immediately. My fishing buddy ordered a Pastrami on rye with mustard, and I was going to do the same but decided to be a little adventurous, and went with Fat Margarita. The Fat Margarita is a cheesesteak, with chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks and fries on a 1/2 sub. They were out of sub rolls (@ 12:30pm on a Saturday) so I went with a round roll. I found the sandwich to be very good and felt it would have tasted even better, if I had eaten it when it was hot. My buddy said that he really enjoyed the Pastrami sandwich. The place isn't pretty, but it's clean, they're efficient and you get a great sandwich, and great value for your money. We stopped at Burger King earlier that morning for breakfast, but wish we had stopped at Margarita's. They offer up great breakfast sandwiches at great prices. We'll be getting our breakfast (and lunch) from Margarita's every time we're fishing...

New Jersey has amazing sub shops.such as tasty subs and monroe deli. SADLY THIS PLACE IS NOT ONE OF THEM FOR SEVERAL REASONS. It is worse than subway. First when the woman asked what I wanted on my sub she didn't write it down and she forgot 2 items to put on my sub. Second the girl that made my sub was putting oil and vinegar in the bread not on the meat. They put too much lettuce and was frugile on what condiments and veggies they remembered to put on the sub. THE GIRL THAT MADE MY SUB WASNT WEARING ANY GLOVES YIKES. It was cheap same price as subway but not worth it. The place is dimmed no lighting and I went around lunch. the place is also FILTHY. This doesn't matter but they also didn't have any special spice condiment to put on the sub like a real deli would. Never getting a cold sub from here again lol. I didnt even finish the sub I bought lol....

This is what I call a hole-in-the-wall deli. It is owned and operated by a husband and wife team. The sandwiches offered here are well made. Whether it's a breakfast or a lunch sandwich, they aren't skimpy with their meats. They have limited hours and close by 2 PM, but are open at 5AM. They also offer cold drinks, coffee and tea.
