Jack & Mary's — Restaurant in Schulenburg

So glad we popped into Jack and Mary’s whilst in Schuldenberg. The employees were so kind and Shopping with a purpose is always good. Jack and Marys is just the spot as some purchases support “And Then” a work program which provides meaningful work, social, and life opportunities for young adults on the autism spectrum, or have learning challenges. The goal of Jack and Mary’s is to create a friendly communal space and offer meaningful social and work opportunities for the young adults enrolled in “And Then!” Added bonus: my husband recognized some of the decorations as being from the old Cozy Theatre (which his grandparents owned) which they called the a“picture show”/ movie theater...

So glad that veered off our path and turned back to check it out. This place is a whole vibe. Adorable unique shop with a large shaded outdoor seating area. The fact it is not only coffee and matcha but also affogato, ice cream, milkshake, boba tea and more makes this an awesome one stop treat. We got the Taro tea and a cookies and cream milkshake-- both didn't last long once we got back in the car! Huge bonus that they also sell homemade stuff like candles, natural cleaner and reusable dish towels. I got "I am loved" bath salts and "creation mantra" mist. This was a fun little spot within walking distance of our AirBnB. The couple running it are incredibly nice and they recommended some activities to us in town that quickly became the highlights of our trip. The drink prices (coffee and beer) are extremely cheap here and they have a beautiful outdoor lawn area with lots of seating, so I highly recommend grabbing a drink and enjoying the day outside.
