Nice interior and their prices seem reasonable. I spent $8.75 on a cortado and a breakfast sandwich, both of which were enjoyable. So that is why I’m disappointed that the baristas and overall atmosphere are so dull. Everyone working behind the counter today looked glum and detached. Not blaming or judging them, because you never know what someone else is going through - my review is addressed to management in hopes that they will make changes to help/encourage staff if possible. Greetings were tepid at best and customer service is lacking. I understand that when a cafe gets busy it of course is unreasonable to assume that the staff will be able to give the same friendliness and attention to customers. But while I was there, it was during a lull where there were hardly any people inside. I also can’t help but wish the employees would bring food and drinks to your table (or at least food) so you don’t have to return to the small counter space multiple times to grab everything in the order. Perhaps a table number system could be in place, at least during slow times? During the three times I went up to the counter (first to grab my drink, next to pick up my sandwich, and lastly to return my food tray to the bin), I was not acknowledged nor thanked, nor told to have a great day, nor was my “Thank you” returned with a smile or any basic moment of eye contact or appreciation, only silence. I even walked directly past the young lady who took my order while leaving the coffeehouse (she was coming in and I was on my way out) and she avoided all eye contact with me while looking downright miserable. Again, not trying to put anyone on blast or judge someone for having a bad day, but sadly I can’t return to a cafe that lacks general care or acknowledgement of customers. Not a “thank you”, “have a nice day”, “enjoy”, was given to me today, not even when my order was being taken at the register. This is coming from someone who HATES Starbucks (haven’t supported them in years and never will again), and who really wants to support local coffee places, but there’s a reason why Starbucks has such emphasis on customer service and ensuring a good experience for everyone who buys something there. It’s because no one wants to spend their money in a place where everyone looks like they aren’t happy serving you. For a lot of people including myself, buying coffee and breakfast sandwich is a luxury and not something that’s affordable often. So when I have the money to spend, I’d like that experience to be pleasant, and in a place where I feel welcome - which sadly was not the case for me today. Cultivation of customer service etiquette would make this place shine, and I haven’t had this experience every time I’ve gone to this place, but I’ve noticed it enough times now for me to be uncomfortable returning and overall disappointed with the service I’ve...
Read moreWe have been to this coffee shop many times, but today was so disappointing. When we walked in I checked the hours on the door, closing 2:30. We walked up to the counter to order, and we were greeted friendly enough. We ordered 2 drinks, I asked for a dry cappuccino, oat milk, shorter than the 16 oz cup. My husband ordered a decaf 16oz latte. I went to find a seat. The older woman working there said to me, we close at 2. I walked back to the cash register, very embarrassed, it was 1:55. I asked if we could cancel our food, she said they had already started making it. We should have been told at time if ordering that we had to take food to go. The cappuccino was made, more like a latte, the espresso was lacking in flavor, and no one said, take a seat, be comfortable, we will close around you. Again the older woman said we close at 2. So embarrassing, especially as a repeat customer. Food was packed to go, but open faced sandwiches not appropriate to eat in the car. Overall a very uncomfortable experience, something I would not want anyone...
Read moreWe had been here a few times when the location used to be my favorite muffin. They completely revamped the place and it looks incredible. It’s so chill. The prices are really reasonable. We got 2 slices of quiche, a 24 oz cold brew, and an English muffin with jam for about $15. When they were out of the jam we selected, someone came out from behind the counter to apologize and told us what other jams they had or offered to get something else. I suspect it’s because I had a kiddo in a stroller but when our order was ready they even brought it directly to our table instead of calling us to the counter. The food was really good as was the coffee. My daughter LOVED it so much we ended up ordering a second slice of the spinach artichoke quiche. This would be a perfect place for a coffee date or to come and hang out and get work done or meet friends. There is plenty of free parking which is a rarity in Phoenixville. I had an incredibly stressful week and felt much calmer just sitting here. We will...
