Cafe Magnolia — Restaurant in Scotts Hill

My husband and I have been in a quest to support local family owned restaurants and stop eating at the large chain restaurants in Jackson. We have been searching out different places to try each week within an hour of our home. Tonight we decided to try out Cafe Magnolia in Scotts Hill and we were not disappointed.

I was a little hesitant when we pulled up to the small cafe on the corner at the 4-way stop but when we walked in we found the place to be clean and had a homey atmosphere. I was impressed with the diverse menu options and the friendly customer service.

I ordered the lasagna after reading reviews mentioning how great it was. It came out piping hot and was delicious. My husband ordered the shrimp fettuccine alfredo and it was good as well. The meals were served with warm rolls and a salad. Although everything was delicious, the best part of the meal was definitely the dessert. We had the caramel coffee brownie cheesecake and it put the Cheesecake Factory to shame. It was probably the best cheesecake I have ever put in my mouth. No matter how full you get, get a to go box for your meal and have dessert. I promise you won’t regret it.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Cafe' Magnolia this evening. The owners, Amanda and Jeremy, were very welcoming, and the staff was prompt and attentive, especially our server, Eli. I had the half order of the lasagna (which is only available on Fridays and Saturdays), and I believe that it was the best lasagne I've ever had. The pasta was perfectly cooked (and not overcooked), the sauce and meat were both flavorful, and there was a just the right amount of sauce and cheese. Everything worked well together in every bite. I really enjoyed it!

My wife and I shared the white chocolate mocha cheesecake for dessert, and it was amazing. Tastes of coffee, chocolate, white chocolate, raspberry in a smooth cheesecake all worked very well together. Amanda makes the desserts from scratch, and they are wonderful.

In town to visit family, and my cousin suggested we eat dinner at the Magnolia Cafe. So glad we did! The menu offered so many good choices, and the portions were large. All 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and my husband said the lasagna was the BEST he had ever eaten! While the entrees are all so good, the star of the menu are the homemade desserts. We had the white chocolate mocha cheesecake, and WOW! So good. But the real star of the show is Amanda, the owner and hostess (and she makes all those lucious desserts!).
