I have tried and tried to enjoy this restaurant because it has so much potential and is one of the only places on the water to eat in Jackson County. To give 3 stars is a bit of a stretch, but the view is what makes this place work. My review is based on multiple visits, and not just one. The service is ALWAYS sub par. It seems as if they may be short staffed, but it's always like that. The servers need some bit of server training as well. They seem to not understand customer service and how to please customers. At our last visit, the chips from our ap were super salty. Too salty to even attempt wiping the salt off. We nicely asked for new chips but the server told us they salt the chips prior to putting them in the fryer, so they are all like that. She didn't believe us that they were salty and after that we had to flag her down to get more drinks. There is never a full bar to order simple drinks and when you order anything other than a beer or a whiskey and coke for example, they never know how to make it or they don't have all the ingredients. We had reservations this last time, but waited 20 minutes on our table that "just needed to be cleaned off" and of course an hour and 15 minutes on our food after ordering while the other tables seated after us got their food. My salad didn't come and when I finally asked for it after an hour, I was told the kitchen was backed up. The server then went right in and brought my salad out. I'm extremely patient and understand the workings of a restaurant, but this place really turns out to be sub par. I've become embarrassed to recommend out of towners to go here. I try so hard, but it just isn't worth it...

My mom and I are from Atlanta GA we have a relative that lives in Fort Payne so we drove over for a one-night visit to Fort Payne and we were going to go down to Top O River in Gadsden but I was looking on the web and found the docks in Scottsboro so we decided to drive from Fort Payne to Scottsboro to eat when we got to the docks The View was amazing all the outside seating was full so we did get a window seat we made our order and we ordered an appetizer cheese fritters they came and we're very good then 45 minutes past still no food finally we hear the waiter Yelling to the kitchen staff table number 45 is about to walk out and and then 5 minutes later our food comes out and we took one bite and it was just nasty two of us got the D's southern fried fish and one person got shrimp all the meals tasted like it had been cooked in old grease and then had the old grease poured over it after it was cooked so everyone ate about half their dinners and we paid for the overpriced food then went outside walked around looked at the water got in the car and drove back to Fort Payne the view is amazing but the food...

After a long day me and my family was hoping to enjoy a good meal. Was told this place was good and so we decided to give it a try. We got seated and waited about 15 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. Finally we was able to order food and get drinks. The food was absolutely poorly cooked as if they had just thrown it in fryer for a few seconds and then threw it on a plate. The fried mushrooms Ended up not eating the majority of our food. The only part of the meal that was not bad and tasted okay was the kids cheese burger. They had the air on and I asked 3 different servers if we could be moved to a different spot or if they could turn the air or fan off because my son was cold and it was blowing right on him. Also, asked for a manager and was told they was occupied at the moment. Waited 20 minutes and was still occupied finally just decided to pay and leave. While waiting to pay we had to wait another 15 minutes just for her to come pick up our check. Terrible service and terrible food. We will not be back. Next time we will just go to...

Upon first ordering I was thrown back by the price nothing of substance under 20$ so I knew from then on this is the big leagues. I ordered the Hawaiian steak. I was pleasantly surprised for the 2nd time! This meal came with a soup! Upon getting the soup I expected a bowl something plain but no it was something more southern! A soup in a mug I loved it!! It was so unique! After a short wait probably to put the finishing touches on the steak. We were served! The steak was cooked exactly how I requested. Midway thru the meal we were swarmed with mosquitos. So we had to eat quick! Overall I loved the experience! The things I would say needed some work are: the employees seemed to be in a constant state of busy and because of this the service for my table was slowed down. The awful mosquitos maybe a bug net around the outdoor section to keep out the bugs. They were flying all around my meal and face.

Got there right at 5:00. Hostess, waitress, and speed of food delivery was all great. The cream of spinach soup was amazing. Cheese fritters were great. The coconut shrimp didn't actually have any coconut on it (small curly things in the picture are just splattered batter chunks). It was just batter fried. 🤷 Ordered the prime rib. That was delicious but the sides were meh. I had the mashed potatoes and they were real but plain. I subbed out the vegetables for cheese grits but there wasn't any cheese in the grits. It was just a lot of cracked pepper. We even asked our server if they were cheese grits. She said yes. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits bowl and loved it. But because the coconut shrimp and the cheese grits didn't have any coconut or cheese, respectively, we had to take off one star. Would eat here again though. View was great and most food items were good.

This place doesn't look like much, but the food was amazing! The Ceasars salad had a good amount of shaved parmesan cheese and prefect dressing; the Ribeye was tender and juicy (they cut their own meat on site); the garlic potatoes were creamy; the crab cakes had a wonderful burst of flavor from the aioli; the key lime pie was creamy but not as tangy as I would have liked. Our server Meg was attentive and chatty, sharing some of the local history. We sat outside and enjoyed the peaceful water while we ate. We'll come back with friends. Update: went back with friends, this time we sat inside; the place was busy, and it was too loud to be heard in conversation, so we moved to the front room; the staff was very accommodating with all our moving. The food was a delicious as last time.
