Puerto Vallarta Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Scottsburg

The restaurant has the usual menu, the usual fare, nothing special going on just average. It’s the typical “North of the Border” take on Mexican food -just missing brown gravy and mushrooms. This doesn’t mean that it’s good or bad. It just means it’s a doable strip mall Mexican restaurant and definitely preferable to Taco Bell. The place has plenty of room although your back is literally pressed against the door after you enter and are waiting to be seated. It can be a bit awkward unless you’re fond of standing between a booth and table chocked full people. The host that seated us didn’t appear to be in a state of joy. He muttered something incoherently, pointed to a booth and tossed the menus on the table. This was immediately followed up by an angry chip boy that rushed up to the table and dropped a basket of corn chips and salsa beside the menus. Authentic Mexican!?!? I read these reviews and decided to give it a try. Consider yourself lucky you came across my review before stopping by. If you decide to give this “Mexican” restaurant a try, drink as many margaritas as you can before eating and you won’t be disappointed as we were. My wife ordered a combo #19 and got a corn and a flour tortilla filled with what looked like grinder dog food and topped with a “rojo”sauce, which I can only imagine is water and chili powder with a tostada on the side instead of a chalupa that had beans, lettuce, and the same grinder dog food that were in the other tortillas. I had asked where the cheese was for the “enchiladas” and they laughed! Like I was crazy for assuming enchiladas have cheese on it. We USUALLY GO to the Puerto Vallarta restaurant that is located in SCOTTSBURG, INDIANA.. -&- without a doubt it is one of the BEST PLACES 2 EAT iN ouR TowN (Scottsburg)!! TheY have SUPER FRIENDLY WAITERS/STAFF -&- FooD iS ALWAYS DELiCiOUS!! The SERVICE iS very FAST when iT comes to taking YouR oRdeR -&- bringing drinks + chips/dip, eTc. to your table..
