Black Rock Coffee Bar — Restaurant in Scottsdale

The coffee is really good and the employees are always smiling and in a good mood. However, you better have a lot of patience or make EXTRA TIME to wait in line.

This is my 3rd time at this location and all I can say is SLOOOOOOOOOWWWW!!!!!

Today, I waited my turn in the drive through. There were 4 cars a head of me that had already ordered. I waited a minute or 2 before someone says hello. No biggie. I place my order. Nothing special. I wanted to try the new horchatta drink. I ordered a medium iced just like the picture showed it. I sat in line for almost 15 minutes before finally getting my drink.

The guy greats me with a smile and was nice. Reads my order back to me. Tells me how much. Holds out his credit card swipe. I swipe my card, he hands me a straw, walks away for a moment then comes back and hands me my drink. I look at it and there's no whipped cream on it. I asked him where it was. He just looked at me like I was speaking another language. I told him that all there advertisement shows every horchatta drink with whipped cream. He looked around in his store, turned back to me and said "I can add it if you want me too". I said no thanks, this took long enough to get and I can't wait any more.

Now remember, I ordered the ICED version, so way is my coffee warm? And why do I have coffee spilted down the side of the cup?

Now..... the icing on the cake..... He says "It's not mandatory but, would I like to leave a tip? I'm a good tipper and always give 20+% but today, I looked him straight in the eyes and said no thank you....not this time. The service was slow and my drink was wrong. I also told him I won't be returning to his location because they are way to slow and unorganized.

I used to work in a coffee shop and I would always have 4 to 6 drinks at a time going. Never did my guest have to wait in line like I have all 3 times I've been here. Today was...

So I dig black rock. Coffee is good. I like their bagels. But… at this particular location the parking and the drive thru are terrible. It will Line up to Thomas and they will send an employee outside to take orders but they only take one order at a time and it actually makes the line worse. I’ve seen coffee ☕️ places send a drive thru attendant out to take like 5 orders black rock doesn’t do this. I waited in line for a girl to take my order, then tell me to pay at the window. So I’m sitting there like.. what’s the point of having you out here in the first place. Meanwhile the biggest gap in the line was me… and the car she just took the order from. So if you’re in a hurry don’t come here. If you want to park and get your vehicle trapped from the horrific drive thru situation then come here. But overall they are cool and make a decent latte. They just don’t do the whole organization...

This place is popular. There's two lanes for the drive thru, and the folks work fast. The coffee is good, the flavoring is able to accentuate the flavor of the coffee. Other drinks provided on menu includes pretty decent energy drinks. Lots of options, and you can get a bucket of the stuff if that's your thing.

Wheelchair accessible, I didn't see a door opening button tho. You're able to move around well enough inside and there's area to sit. Open concept so can be loud if you come during busy hours, like the weekend mornings.

Music system is dope. Just throwing that in there because the bass was shocking in a good way. (Caution I like bass 😅)

Food item purchased was pastry. Plain coffee cake. Was ok. Kinda eggy.

Pretty good place to hit up and they get their orders done quickly. Maybe a little loud for folks...
