Burrito Express — Restaurant in Scottsdale

I used to go here 2-3 times a week, and let a lot of stuff slide but their good food/green sauce no longer makes up for their consistent bad customer service.

They often open late, and close early. If you call around lunch time, they answer the phone and indefinitely put the phone on the counter so you can hear everyone order their food without the rep ever going back to the phone. This keeps the phone from ringing for them... With today's technology, there's no excuse to treat people this way. Then in person, the 2 guys that normally man the register have such an attitude all of the time. If you get one of the guys that are usually in the back cooking, it's a completely different experience; that's what kept me going back... The good food and hope...

Before things got to this point, I made the mistake of recommending Burrito Express on Hayden/Mt view, to my colleagues and they had similar experiences, so they are pretty much black listed at my office and they don't want my recommendations anymore lol.

If a half-way decent burrito shop opens in this area that has better customer service; this place will go out...

I just visited Burrito Express for the first time a few weeks ago. I had heard of them but never remembered to check them out. I love breakfast burritos and so many places charge too much for them (in my opinion.) Burrito Express is really affordable and has quite a few options. The service was quick, cashier was friendly and I really liked the online ordering option. I decided to try a bacon, egg burrito add cheese and green chili. I mistakenly thought the green chili option was for green chili beef so I was a bit disappointed with that but it was my misunderstanding. The burrito was good overall but having paid extra for cheese I wasn’t happy when there was one tiny glob of it added in. I’ll just add my own from now on. I didn’t see any green chili pieces either but I could have missed them. A few days ago I returned and just got the bacon and egg burrito which was a bit bland but their salsa verde is really good and helped significantly to add more flavor! HORRIBLE HAYDEN LOCATION. Food was good, but does not pay when they add gratuity to delivery orders without stating so. Therefor not the best $10 burrito I have ever had. To top it all off when I called to question the bill the manager treated me like it was owed to him and I had no right to be upset. HE even asked me " what do you think your gonna Get out of this call". Then he told me that the ADDITION OF GRATUITY was clearly market on the website and on the menu, when it is NOT. So they lied to me, charge extra for no reason and got into a yelling match over the phone. Again they ended up with an $11.00 tip on a $20 BURRITO ORDER, NEVER AGAIN! Just because your delivery drivers are not making enough in tips to make their minimuge wage, but that should not be taken out on the customer! It should very well be the corporations that take care of...
