So the food was really great. Ended up having the marinated chicken tenders with mashed potatoes and waffle fries. I'd give the food 4 out of 5 stars. But the delivery service was subpar considering that I ordered and gave specific instructions on how to reach where I was at, but they ended up leaving my food elsewhere to pick up and didn't bring it to me directly because they couldn't find me. The delivery guy's name was Mike.
Here's some friendly advice to the restaurant management: give your driver's a cell phone with the customer's number, or give us the number of your driver so that way we can reach out to them to give them some instructions if they get lost as Mike did. If we pay for a delivery service, it should be delivered to us directly, not to some drop off point like an office nearby because he wasn't able to find us for whatever reason.
To be fair, it was perhaps a little confusing due to delivering to the nearby Dollar General shipping/receiving area as I was a truck driver doing a delivery at the time, but still, there should have been a way to communicate with the driver, but there wasn't. That's the main point.
And please, spare me the same response you give to all your other critical customer's, to give their feedback at some email or website you list under other reviews. We don't need to do any such thing. It's entirely unnecessary considering we've already given our feedback right here in Google reviews. What's the point of giving the same feedback elsewhere? It's redundant.
We're human beings, not robots, so try engaging with your customer base like a fellow human being instead of giving the same replies like some automated response system. We respect responses much more from businesses which sound much less corporate and robotic, and more "real" where you guys are giving responses not just about how sorry you are, which is nice, but what you'll work on to fix the issue in the future, or how you can compensate us for our experience if we had a particularly dreadful one. That's what we wanna hear so we know our experiences and reviews aren't falling on deaf ears.
P.S.: shout out to Hailey who was working the phones and took my order. She was quite polite, had a nice accent which sounded pleasant to the ears, and was great when it came to giving recommendations and being patient with deciding what I wanted to order, not sounding impatient or rude at any point. More restaurants could use such a pleasant young lady such as herself. If I could, I would've rather spent the $3 I spent on the delivery fee to use on splitting a tip between the cook and Hailey. They were far more...
Read moreEDIT: Unfortunately, after several disappointing visits, I am going to have to drop my five-star review down to two. This restaurant used to be one of our favorite places to eat. The food was great, the portions were more than ample, and the service was awesome and FAST! We have noticed since covid, things have really tanked. The waitresses seem to creep around at a snail's pace. The food is so-so at best. And the condition of the restaurant itself is not at all how I like things to be where I am eating. The floors were so slippery this last time, it was a fall hazard. I don't know if it was because the humidity was high in there or if they were just that dirty. The table and chairs where we were seated were STICKY. Yuck. 🤢 We are just really sad to see this place go downhill so much. Love eating here! We are consistently impressed with the quality of the food and the size of the portions. The service has been very good. Salad bar is one of the freshest I've ever eaten from. I'm always amazed at how little it costs to eat here for how much good food you get. A nice eating environment too. They fit a lot of people in here, but it doesn't feel overcrowded. We visit as...
Read moreIn town visiting family and my Mom insisted we try this place so we went on a Saturday. Definitely off the beaten path but the service was great and the waitress was super nice. The food was pretty good and I actually had low expectations coming into the place. I had the catfish plate with fried okra and turnip greens. Overall the portions of catfish were bigger than I expected which was good. The food could use a bit more seasoning as the seasoning on the catfish was kinda bland, the turnip greens were really good and they needed more seasoning also. The fried okra was good to go. As soon as you sit down, there is already some bread on the table, but I noticed that folks who came later, they had darker bread which looked more normal for the dinner rolls. We ate them though before I noticed others had darker rolls and they tasted fine. Like I said before, the place it out the way and it's in KY, so fair warning. I'd go back again if we could have the same waitress, she was funny and cool and treated us well. Food is very inexpensive here btw. I live in Oregon and this same meal would have been double. Great...
