Brown's Lobster Pound — Restaurant in Seabrook

Browns is in a super convenient location and has a really pretty view. I loved that they offered indoor and outdoor seating on the patio and the back. Prices aren’t bad for lobster; the lobster roll was about $27, $7 for a bisque and $6 for French fries. The lobster bisque had a good taste but not overly lobster. The texture of the lobster leaves me to believe that the patches sit for a really long time because the lobster lost all its texture and became very mushy. The lobster roll was on a well toasted roll but they could’ve been filled a lil more for a small roll they don’t fill it to the bottom. If I was to go back I might try out one of their boiled lobsters because the quality of the lobster was good. The staff was okay…the younger staff at the window were a little passive when we received our food we realized they’d forgotten the tarter sauce we asked for (totally cool we didn’t get a clam plate we just like it for our fries which Ik it’s not always typical) but when I tried to get her attention quite literally 10 seconds after being handed our food she just turned around and started fooling around with one of her coworkers. After about a few minutes when another order was ready the workers had to come to the window and realized we weren’t leaving so they finally acknowledged our existence and gave us a tartar sauce…However, we did meet some of the older staff in the dinner room cleaning tables and they were delightful and even shared a little about the history of Browns. Attempted to eat here tonight, 07/05, but did not have the experience I am used to having. I go to Browns every summer and have loved going there since I was a kid. I have been going here for over twenty years and never had the experience that I had this evening. It was busy and waited in line for about 15 min which is fine considering the line. I then waited another 40 min for the ordered food. I tried my best to have patience but continued to notice several people that were behind me in line getting their orders. A total of 7 orders behind mine were received then I went to the counter to ask about the status of my order. The young man at the counter asked for my ticket, I gave it to him, and then questioned whether I read it correctly. Then when he realized I understand how to read numbers, he then asked me to wait. After speaking with other workers there he informed me my order was given away and I would have to wait. No apology, not even an option as to what to do, but I was told I would have to wait for my food I have already waited over 45-50 min now. I then retracted my order and again no one apologized for giving my order away or for the extensive wait I had to endure. It also rubbed me the wrong way suggesting I don’t know how to read numbers. It’s a pretty simple process Browns didn’t seem to be able to accomplish today. Considering my order was over $70.00 for two people which included poor service in all aspects, I will not be back for a long time...

Today July 11, 2025 My husband and I decided to go have steam clams at Browns we haven’t been in years thought something different would be nice not so When went to order our steamers the kid doing that job should have been fired we were standing at the counter he had his phone in his hand texting he just continued until he was done never said a word just looked with a dumb look on his face so I said we would like two orders of steamers he rung it up mumbled something I gave him the money he gave me my change and ticket he then put the clams in the steamer went right back to the phone it seems like it was a long time before he took them out we started eating them even switching them in the broth he gave us didn’t’ get rid of the sand what they passed off as butter was horrid not sure what it was the small clams were so tough the clams were a sandy mess the shells were all broken some of the clams weren’t in the shells What a disappointment & expensive mess it was We were still hungry so I said I wouldn’t spend another cent there we went some where else to get something to eat We will never go back Some lady came over and told him the toilet was going to overflow he just pointed to another person (that was also on his phone) to go tell him Take The Phones away from these people maybe you could get some...
