Little Rae's Bakery — Restaurant in Seattle

While I have to admit their products are very good and well made, the expense of their quality to me is not worth it. If you support this company you are supporting the exploitation of cheap labor, often with undocumented employees having to work 12+ hour days starting at 5am and ending at 5pm sometimes later, without the ability to quit because they aren't citizens, and for those that are citizens are treated even worse, because management doesn't have that leverage over them. If you start even 1 minute late at 5:01am you could get a warning or terminated, you could get terminated for no reason as there is a no explanation clause in the employee contract, multiple people were fired with no explanation at all and with no prior warnings or severance pay, leaving them and their families to struggle to pay rent because of this company's complete lack of commitment to their employees. All the employees are overworked, one even having a seizure from overwork and exhaustion, and then later getting fired saying that he was unreliable because he needed to take a couple days off after the seizure. There is no accountability by management, when one higher ranking employee was accused of sexual harassment towards one of her department's employees no action was taken and that person is still working there, but the employee that made the harassment complaint was fired. Most employees who work here are scared to speak out or stick up for themselves because this company is more than willing to fire anyone with no warning and no explanation given, and they know that, it is nothing but fear tactics that keeps this place running. IF YOU SUPPORT THIS COMPANY YOU ARE SUPPORTING THE EXPLOITATION OF THEIR EMPLOYEES, FEAR TACTICS IN THE WORKPLACE, UNETHICAL LABOR PRACTICES, PREDATORY MANAGEMENT PRACTICES, AND A GENERAL DISREGARD FOR THE BASIC NEEDS OF THEIR WORKERS. Sure, their pastries may be delicious, but I hope the next time you bite into one you know that a scared, manipulated, and extremely exhausted worker made that pastry...

I have been buying out the stock of holiday sugar shortbread cookies for over a year. I can’t wait for another holiday to see if Whole Foods is going to carry them. I am your biggest East Coast fan and ensure the stores near me sell out each holiday. So, I went to my favorite coffee spot and on a whim ordered a "Little Rae's Bakery" chocolate treasure muffin. what i didn't know was that this muffin was going to spoil my morning. I took one bite, chewed for a second then immediately spat it out. it tasted BITTER! this is the worst muffin I have ever tried. I was so hungry too. nothing spoils your day like a mouthful of bitter, crumbly, pseudo chocolate tasting goo. poor job...
