I just love every single thing about the tower suite at The Washington House. The Tower Suite spans 3 floors with the main bedroom on the first level, a sitting room with a pull out couch on the second level… and my favorite the tower observatory! Accommodations Include: ▫️queen bed ▫️rain shower ▫️twin sinks ▫️a desk ▫️pull out couch ▫️refrigerator ▫️hair dryer ▫️iron & ironing board ▫️and more! It is so beautiful looking out at the little town of Sellersville from the tower observatory. I can’t imagine how beautiful the view is during a snowstorm! I also absolutely love the brick wall in the main bedroom.
Dinner time at The Washington House was exceptional as always. Every single meal I’ve had here has been absolutely out of this world, and this meal was no exception. The only bad part about the night was having to decide on which items to order! We kicked off the meal with an order of the Crispy Potato & Cheddar Pierogies with apple, caramelized onions, sour cream and picked mustard seed as well as their Arancini appetizer special. I then had to order my favorite menu item - the bratwurst on a pretzel roll with sauerkraut, whole grain mustard and rosemary Gouda cheese sauce. Finally, we ended the meal with a Black Forest cake, Pumpkin Truffle Bread Pudding and a Chocolate Peppermintini. Everything about our dinner was fabulous from the food, to the atmosphere, and even the excellent service.
When you stay at The Washington House, you are treated to a wonderful breakfast to get your day started each morning. Before you go to bed, you fill out a sheet that says what time you would like to come down to eat and you check off what items you would like to order and slide the form out into the hallway to be collected. The next morning, you come down to the pub area during your selected time and the food will be there waiting for you! We had a tasty selection of waffles, yogurt, scones, hard boiled eggs and more.
I can’t say enough good things about the room, the hotel staff, the restaurant and Washington House in general We enjoyed exploring the town of Sellersville and getting to see Micky Dolenz at Sellersville Theater while we were there!

Hotel: Clean and nice, classical style is well-executed. Everything looks deliberately old-style but feels new, giving a cozy, old-fashioned feel with modern high quality. Nice lounge with free snacks. Continental breakfast is served at a private table with wait service at the restaurant downstairs. Value-wise I think their regular prices are fair. They are often booked out, but if they have a vacancy it seems like they discount the price on short-notice bookings, which is amazing value if you're lucky enough to snag a room that way.
Restaurant: Crab & Shrimp Cakes: 10/10. Lemme tell you, I've been to Maryland, Hawaii, California, Guam, Washington State, and Florida on my search for the perfect crab cake. Turns out it's been in PA this whole time. Sorry, Maryland. I'm so sorry. French Fries: 10/10. An odd thing to review but they were so perfect I had to. Those skinny, slightly burnt fries at the bottom of the basket are my favorite, and the crab cakes came with a whole plate of them. Crab Pappardelle: 7/10. Perfect texture and consistency went a long way, but a bit bland and light on the meat for the price. Not bad, but in my opinion would improve with some more seasoning and a lemon wedge. Blueberry Peach Crisp: 10/10. Blueberry and peach? Those can't possibly go together. Turns out they do, and this was one of the best desserts I've ever had. Recommend it with the ice cream. Raspberry Cheesecake: 9/10. Really good, not quite life-changing but better than most cheesecakes I've tried. Bread Rolls: 3/10. Kinda chewy, and I'm not personally a fan of sourdough. A minor complaint that won't deter me from coming back, I'm only including this in hopes they'll consider experimenting with different breads. Atmosphere is great. There's a lively bar side and a quieter restaurant side, as well as indoor/outdoor seating, so this place is equipped to handle any preference. Service was friendly.
Overall, I look forward to returning and would recommend this...
Read moreThe minute I checked in to the Washington House, I felt like I was a valued guest. I was made to feel welcome, and the details of my stay were clearly communicated to me. The Tower Suite was a splurge, but it was my 25th anniversary, so I went for it! The room did not disappoint. That top floor is 4 sides of windows, with an excellent view of the surrounding area. Unfortunately, it was rainy the entire weekend, but I bet that view is spectacular on a clear day. I had arranged for a flower arrangement to be delivered to my room from Perkasie florists. It was there when I opened the door, and it was exactly what I requested! The dining room we were seated in was beautifully appointed. We couldn’t have had better service. Caitlyn took outstanding care of us. She was exceptional in every way. Friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Exactly the qualities you hope for in a server. I wish we could have brought her back to Lancaster! The food was very good, too! We then went to a sold out show at the Sellersville theater, which is about a 2 minute walk. The theater was beautiful as well. I had ordered a bottle of Prosecco and a cheese plate for after the show. It was in the room when we returned. Again, the attention to detail! After a restful night, we had an excellent brunch, with Athena as our server. She was just as friendly and attentive as Caitlyn. The brunch was good too! Especially the coffee cake! Wow!! I would recommend the Washington House without reservation. We’re looking forward to returning and staying in another room just to have a new experience. As a last note, every server and host wished my partner and I a happy anniversary. That wasn’t lost on us. It made us feel cared for. Like a part...
