Moody Cat Coffee Shop — Restaurant in Selmer

So proud to have a place like Moody Cat’s in my hometown. The best coffees, bubble tea 🧋, frapps and more. Desserts and snacks goods are top notch. Still hoping to try the light lunches soon but they look amazing. I never would have thought that we would have a place like this here in Selmer with drive thru and delivery as well.

Plus is it such a cool hangout. All kitty themed which is already a HUGE plus for me. But it is homey and comfortable and the people are so friendly and helpful. They have even started having a trivia night once a month on First Friday nights and this has been a big boon for the community. When there isn’t much to do in town after 5, this is an amazing addition. I would love to see a karaoke night or something similar, too.

All and all Moody Cat’s is just about perfect. If I were to give any suggestions and if these were even possible, I would like a choice of strength of the coffee. I would love an option I’d whether I wanted my syrup ‘flavor’ light or strong. I prefer strong but others may not. I would like to get iced drinks blended instead of just ice cubes. I would also like sucralose as an option instead of just stevia for sugar free. If you could get your drinks sweetened when you order that would be great too because if I forget and it is drive thru then I am kicking myself. lol. Of course many of these things are probably already available and I just don’t know about it because I am too shy to ask. ☺️ I am simply thinking of my personal wishes. But in the end, I am not sure if it can really get much better because I adore the place and the owner is beyond amazing.

This afternoon I came here with my family for the first time after getting a haircut & we all enjoyed ourselves! My mom & I got a Kitchen Sink Frappe (which is similar to the Frappuccino from Starbucks but I like Moody Cat’s better, the regular version has chocolate, caramel, chocolate chip cookie dough, Oreos & chocolate chunks) with Marshmallow. It was delicious! It was very sweet but you could still taste the coffee which is solid coffee! My dad really enjoyed his Bengal Breve! I 💜ed the cat theme! As an architecture lover I loved how they kept the original details of the building like the stained glass windows, exposed brick that was painted white, exposed woodwork in the sitting area & the original floor. We just might become regulars since my mom said that she could see herself relaxing in the sitting area. I also 💜ed how they showed pictures of the history of the building especially since it used to be a laundromat! They also had an open book where you could leave comments, I wrote that I 💜ed the cat theme & thought the stage would be great for live music, I tried to write a heart but I don’t think I did very well with writing the heart so I apologize to the staff for that 😅. I just now realized that the stage could also be great for karaoke. Maybe they’ll do live music or karaoke or both in the future 🤷🏽‍♂️! The service from the ladies at the counter was awesome! Even if you’re more of a dog person they have dog treats & even drinks for your dog. We’ll definitely go again, if you’re ever in Selmer, TN please check this place out you won’t regret it! I can not say enough about this place!

As I walked in it was like entering my own eclectic world. The furniture, the walls, the ceiling, the windows, EVERYTHING here is unapologetically self serving. Sitting in the back room in the vintage comfy chairs, with the throw pillow is like sitting in your Nannys living room back in the day, minus the cigarette smoke. The lamps, tables, vases, mirrors, and books shelves oh my! You have to experience Moody Cat to know how cozy and truly nurturing to the sole this space has been planned and made for the customer.

Now on to the coffees, the baked goods, the non coffees. I had the Salted Tabby Toffee Frap, let me just say HEAVEN. The lemon vanilla cupcake, chefs kiss. Liv had the Himalayan Honey coldbrew with Coldfoam her description silence. Which if you know her NEVER happens. She did her little happy dance she does when whatever shes indulging in touches her soul. We have found our new coffee home. Might be back before they close for a Pina Colada Car Nip! Yep you heard me, its an island concoction with a little kick of redbull....
