The Corner Café — Restaurant in Selmer

We couldn't wait to try this local diner. The people are very friendly. But I gave you only 2 stars because the meat was over cooked on our Philly cheese steak sandwiches, you offer no fries, only hash browns. Our sandwiches were packed on a small hoagie bun and served to us at the counter with only a thin paper liner, no plate. I had to eat mine with a fork so the paper kept tearing. Not a fan of eating on a dirty counter. My son, however was served with a plate for a sausage hotdog. Not enough food for the money. When we left, we went somewhere else to eat. And neither of them wore gloves, nor did I witness their hands...

After trying a slug burger from the most popular location in Corinth, I decided to dine here and try their take on the burger. I was drawn in by the atmosphere / aesthetics of the restaurant. I seated myself at the bar and was welcomed by many workers & patrons. I struck up a conversation with who I presume was the owner. He was friendly and appreciative of the business. The slug burgers I ordered were thin, crispy and flavorful. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. It was a Friday, nearing the end of the business hours but I did not feel rushed to finish up my meal. This is a great old school diner. It's a little cramped or cozy, depending on how you look at it, and it has seating at the bar with tall stools. If you're short, they may become a little uncomfortable since your legs will not touch the floor. There is a spot outside to sit as well. It has friendly staff, but during a rush, they get to work and get in the zone so they can seem a little less polite, but they are really nice people. The food is very good, and it is priced reasonably, especially during a time when everything is expensive. My wife and I will most definitely be going...
