Refuge Coffee — Restaurant in Seneca

I live in town and was so excited for a coffee shop to open! When I went in for the very first time, I was unfortunately disappointed with how unfriendly the staff was. The owner said a quick hi what can I get you. I responded by saying this was my first time here to which the menu was slide in front of me and she said I’m sorry we are out of a lot, but this is what we have. Now this is where as a business owner, you have the opportunity to make a customer for life or a customer that never comes back. Not another word was really said to me…..however the owner and 2 other ladies preceded to converse with themselves and discuss and taste new drinks. Not a customer for life! I was going to try and give them another chance, but my daughter recently went in and had almost the exact same experience. The kicker with her was she ordered a cinnamon roll and was never asked if she wanted it warmed up or not, then another customer came in and the conversation was completely different than the one my daughter had, the customer was asked if they would like it warmed, and the clerk preceded to have a full on conversation about how much better the cinnamon roll was warmed and so on. My daughter even said something about her experience right then. I...

I was excited to try the new Coffee shop in town today, but was very disappointed. There is a lack of customer service within the establishment. I walked in and was not acknowledged or greeted. Several other customers walked in shortly after me and were immediately welcomed in. The cashier had a lengthy conversation with the customer in front of me which I did not mind, but then when it came to my turn she quickly took my order and then continued to carry on with the previous customer. I thought a new business would be more friendly and welcoming to all guests in order to gain returning customers. Unfortunately I do not see myself returning as I was unimpressed by the customer service...

I’m a part-time resident here and a huge coffee lover. Sundays are usually my best coffee days, but unfortunately this spot isn’t open then. So, when I can make it, I definitely do! I’ve been there three times now and ordered a Caramel Macchiato each time. It has tasted a little different each visit, I am now asking for tweaks like “less sweet”, trying things out, but it’s always been delicious, no matter what it tastes like, so no complaints.

The staff is always super friendly and welcoming, and the space itself is both cute and huge inside. I’ll definitely keep coming back whenever I’m in town and...
