I truly can not say enough good things about this restaurant. We live in Sevierville and only just got around to this place and it is now our favourite restaurant in the whole state! Every single person in there was so kind and friendly and helpful. It almost felt as if we were all friends even though we just met. They treat their customers with such respect and they really care. I've probably never had customer service this great. As for the food, we first got motzerlla sticks which is one of my favourite foods. I've gotten the at any restaurant that offers them and these are the best I've had in my life. The breading was amazing. They put the perfect amount of cheese. I've never seen such perfect motzerlla sticks. I then got the Chicken Parmigiana. This restaurant serves the meal with SO much food! For the price, I was amazed. They are not at all expensive yet the food looks like a 5 star restaurant to me. Every dish was beautiful and bountiful. It was great. My husband got the Country Fried Chicken which is his favourite and he said it was the best he has ever had. I was offered some of the homemade mac and cheese (another of my favourite foods that I eat so much of) and it was the best I've ever had! Perfect tasting and texture. My son had spaghetti which he really enjoyed. I know my review is rather long but it is worth it to me to express how impressed we are with this place. We absolutely cannot wait to come back and try more food. It is so rare that we found 3 things here that were the best we have ever had and we are old enough to have had these dishes many times in our life. I would give this place a thousand stars if possible. I can't even think of one single negative of our experience here. We are thankful for the great lunch 🙂

4☆ because of the steak. More on that later. I have eaten here 3 times. We drive from Maryville to eat here. It's that good. 1st visit had the BBQ bologna. Really good. 2nd visit I had the cow and bird. I think it's called that. Price wise it's a deal and a half. 6oz beautifully fried boneless chicken breast. Finger licking!!! 9oz steak... 0 flavor. I mean 0. Slight sear on it, but I swear it tasted like it was boiled. I ordered medium and it was medium-well. I can over look that. But it had 0 flavor. I had to ask for 57 sauce. I haven't eat steak sauce in years. It didn't help this poor dead lump of meat. The mac-n-cheese was really good. Just get the chicken and Mac. You won't be disappointed. My wife had the fish n chips. She said it was great. Golden and flaky. 3rd visit I had had the meatloaf... That was a really good meatloaf. It was juicy and tender. A lot of places over work the meat so it's dense and tough. This was loose and full of flavor. My wife had the burger. It was a really good juicy burger. The desserts... I haven't had a bad one yet. Pros: Really good prices, friendly staff, awesome chicken, great desserts, my wife said free popcorn.. 😆 Cons: It's a drive unless you live there, the poor so called steak 🤮.

UPDATE: The owners / managers responded below. We appreciate their response. We may give it a shot again down the road so that, hopefully having another 5-star experience there like we've had 2 times in the past, we can come back on here and amend this review and up the stars. Also, I want to stress that the Waitress was friendly and engaging and in no way was she rude. I don't want to get her into any trouble. She's been there for a long time. Yet, the fact is, she simply could have done better, even though some of the issues probably weren't all her fault. As for their claim below that the food is the exact same as before, I have no further comment. All I know is that several weeks ago the food seemed wonderful to us and we had pretty much all of the same items. So, if our observations are correct, then it wasn't the ingredients but the new cooks that explains the difference, a possibility that I alluded to.

In a nutshell: This place (Seymour Grille) is very hit-or-miss. Tonight (Valentine's Day) was a BIG MISS! We've had 5 experiences over 2-3 years, the last two being under the new ownership. The experience before this one was very good overall, although there was a weird issue that arose then, but that's neither here nor there. We arrived tonight at 7:30 pm. We waited and waited and waited throughout the service. My mind was on the constant waiting rather than enjoying the food. The mac & cheese, which was maybe one notch above Kraft, came out cold. Some of the food was "off". The cheesesticks were nothing like the ones we had a few weeks ago. They changed the cheese. They weren't stringy and ooey-gooey but mushy and spicy. Three of our plates were brought out together and the Waitress said she would be "right back" with the fourth one, so we waited for the other plate to come before eating. That ended up being about 10 minutes or so, all the while everyone's food was cooling off. The Waitress said there's a new guy cooking in the back who just started. We could tell. The Waitress stopped refilling our drinks. By the time she returned, we had finished our food and were ready to go, having sat for a long time waiting for the ticket. We asked for drinks to go, and she said they don't have to-go cups (even though they have a drive-thru). When I opted to take my tea at the table, she said she would have to check and see if there is still any left, since they close at 8 pm. It was 8:14 because we waited and waited throughout service! I think the Waitress was doing her sidework hoping to bail out asap when we left. I don't know, but another waitress came over and swept all around us. That's a huge no-no. Yet, the idea that you stop serving your existing customers when closing time comes around is crazy. She came back and told me I was "lucky" that there was some tea left. Lucky me that I was able to finally wash down the food lodged in my throat for the last 15 minutes. Anyway, she was friendly and engaging the entire time, when she came to the table. It was just very slow service. That might not have been all her fault. The food was off, and the atmosphere wasn't very comfortable. Other customers didn't seem too happy to me, but that's just my observation and opinion. So, we've had 2 hits and 3 misses over the years. I guess in honor of Meatloaf I should say, "Two out of FIVE ain't bad"...I guess. There's just some weird stuff that goes on there...just odd little quirky things. They seem to almost act like these things are perfectly normal, so you almost feel like you're in the Twilight Zone with some of it. We won't be back, at least not for a very long time. I'm just glad that we came back and had this experience with just our family before we brought my parents with us or recommended it to anyone we know. I'm glad I wasn't embarrassed in front of others for having recommended it only to experience something like tonight right in front of them! So, go and take your chances, if you must, but don't say you weren't warned if you get a miss instead of a hit! I hope you get a hit, because when it's a hit,...

2nd revision, we gave them a few more chances to show consistency on their service and quality of their food. Was very disappointed. Waited an hr for our dinner and appetizer. The appetizer was delivered and was told the other parties dinner was ready however, my dinner was not as they were out and to order something else and they would prepare it. So after an hr I have no dinner and have to reorder while other party eats dinner or theirs gets cold. We walked out. Contacted owner, while it is true we were offered another dinner on them. My goal is not to get free dinners. If the only time service is adequate is when the restaurant is aware of my presence to give a heads up, obviously it will be better. My reviews are objective or they hold no validity. I do not know exactly what plagues this restaurant that they can not be consistent with service and quality of food however, we will not be back. No need for a dinner on them.

Revising and correcting my 1st review. As proof by this edit, everyone deserves a second chance. Originally a 2 Star tonight a well deserved 5 star. Y'all nailed it. Pat yourselves on the back all your hard work has paid off. Well done. After last visit spoke to owner Sean Freeman new owner to this establishment, very personable, hard working gentlemen, was told was working on improvements. Yes you did. Upon walking in new tables. Very nice, clean even right down to the eating utensils. This time ordered smothered pork chops with mashed potatoes gravy and cole slaw, and a Hot ham and swiss on rye with fries. Every thing was very good. What was supposed to be hot was hot (including fries and gravy) everything had a wonderful flavor. I have to say from previous visit to this visit there have been visible improvements. Dining experience was spot on. Impressive. This restaurant definitely deserves a try y'all. Will definitely recommend. Stop by see Sean and the staff. If something is not up to your expectations, mention it to him. The customer service, I was very impressed with. Young staff hard working and cheerful. In today's world it is so refreshing to see that there is at least one establishment that has not forgotten about customer courtesy and service. I would definitely give this place a try. If you are visiting this area definitely stop by, get a taste of good ol' southern hospitality. Sean can't wait for our next visit to see what you do next and what has changed. Good luck to all of you and thank you for a wonderful evening. Very impressive.

Was 1st time dining at this restaurant went because it has a 4.7 rating. I don't know why. I will say the waiting staff is very friendly and our server worked hard. That being said. We had to change tables as the (looks like white picnic top booth table tops) were nasty with old dried greese and old food in the cracks; nasty [constructive thought: dig the nasty-ness out between the cracks of the tables and place a glass table top over them. Easier to clean and looks presentable] Upon opening the rolled silverware the forks were greesy. Our appetizer were huge, hand breaded and hot (onion rings and motzorella sticks) and very good, after tha the club sandwich has no mayo or anything ( be sure to ask your server) the fries as it comes with a side were cold. The hot roast beef sandwich was good (thought a lot of bread) and hot thank goodness because the gravy smothered over the mashed potatoes and the roast beef was not. Great staff, horrible dining experience...

I knew we were in trouble when the hostess quadruple sat our server. We knew we were going to have to wait. No big deal, but it sure would be nice if this place had a bar, or at least served beer and wine, or was even BYOB, but nope. Our server was a scattered mess, but you can’t really blame her after being quadruple sat. We ordered sodas and an app. She got the sodas correct, but tried to give us each other’s. Not a big deal, but it’s a start. We ordered Pepper Jack cheese sticks….and got regular mozzarella. Grace was so overwhelmed with taking orders, we just decided to eat them. They were good, but really, it’s not like it’s hard to batter up some cheese sticks and drop them in the fryer. I will give them this, they weren’t the least bit greasy, which was nice. Our entrees arrived… The Cod Fish Frey and the Flat Iron Steak. The fish was delicious, the M&C was fine, and the fries were terrible. The steak was cooked properly and tasted ok, but was kind of bland, the sides were on the bland side too, but fine. Before we were even finished, our server came over and slammed the check down without asking if we’d like dessert. This annoyed me as it’s rude. If you’re not going to ask if we want anything else, at least let us finish our damn meal before you drop the check off. We ordered dessert. My husband ordered the blackberry cobbler with ice cream. I got some butterfinger cream thing in a jar. They make a big deal out of these little mason jars like they’re something special. (They’re not). Grace brings my dessert in the jar, with no silverware, and says his cobbler will be out shortly. Five minutes go by. Then ten. Finally Grace pops back by to ask if I want more Sprite. I say, “No, but a spoon would be nice.” No “Oh! I’m so sorry!” or anything…she just turns on her heel, goes and gets a spoon and drops it on the table. No napkin, nothing, just drops the spoon on the table. Like I’m going to use that. Gross! Another 5 minutes go buy and my husband’s cobbler finally appears. But by this time they had seated a disgusting group of slovenly, greasy people right behind us. The smell of smoke was so offensive, we couldn’t eat. Finally Grace comes back by and we ask for the check. TWENTY minutes later, she comes back over. We will not be back. One more thing, twice during our meal some frazzled looking older woman walked into the little room where our table and three other were and asked each of the other tables how their meals were, shot us a look and walked out without even acknowledging us. BOTH TIMES! This wasn’t our first time and we’ve been less than thrilled each time, but it’s the only game in town. If you don’t mind zero ambiance and enjoy artery clogging deep fried everything, you might not mind this place, but it’s loud and they rush you through your meal every single time. This place is always busy, but that’s because it’s pretty much the only non-fast food place for miles. Personally, I don’t get the appeal. Any self-respecting Southerner knows how to properly fry up chicken and make a decent meatloaf. I’ve had their meatloaf, and find it a bit dry. I honestly think the appeal is that they pile so much food on the plates that people feel like at least their getting a good deal on their fair-to-middlin’, artery clogging, mediocre food. Don't waste your time...
