Shortys Restaurant and Bar — Restaurant in Shade Township

Ate here for the second time last night. I had to talk my family into it because it's somewhat expensive, and the acoustics are terrible (very echoey and loud). It was indeed loud again, compounded by the fact that we were seated next to a really boisterous table. My child was covering her ears because one lady was shrieking. When the food arrived, my child's dish was incorrect (they brought out pasta with marina sauce vs. what we ordered -- plain buttered pasta). We sent it back and we were told it would be out in a couple minutes. More than halfway through the meal they brought out another cup of pasta, this time with cheese on it. Sent it back. After everyone had finished their plates, a small cup of buttered pasta arrived. I told the server we didn't need it anymore since we had already all finished. She said to take the dish home and that the charge would be taken off the bill. Check arrives -- the dish is on the bill. I point this out and hand her my credit card. She said she wasn't sure the owner would take the charge off the bill but she could send her out to discuss it. I said fine, please send her out. Eventually the server comes back with my credit card and a strange receipt with no place to sign or to leave a tip. I asked the server why the charge wasn't taken off, and how I was supposed to tip. She was extremely flustered and said it was the best she could do and that she hopes next time things would be better. She suggested I could speak with the owner and again I said, yes, please send her out. The owner never arrived. We ran into the server on the way out, and she was bawling crying and apologizing that she couldn't remove the charge. Then when I got home and looked at the bill again, they had also charged us $5 for a side salad (which was supposed to have come with the entree). It was the most bizarre thing I've ever experienced in a restaurant and I will NEVER go back. If this is the way they do business, these folks will be out of business...

Shortys Restaurant and Bar is a fantastic dining destination that I recently had the pleasure of visiting. The staff was incredibly polite and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. The food was outstanding - I ordered the steak sandwich and my wife ordered the shrimp tacos, and we were both thoroughly impressed with the quality and flavor of our dishes.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was also noteworthy. We particularly enjoyed sitting at the bar and soaking up the lively energy of the place. Speaking of the bar, the drinks were fantastic - expertly mixed and beautifully presented. Overall, we had a wonderful time at Shortys Restaurant and Bar and will definitely be back in the future. Highly recommend!

We sat down and was told only one server. No problem. She got our drink and food orders..15 minutes still no drinks. She overhears me say something and commented they will be out shortly the bar was getting them. They came out 5 minutes later. 45 minutes later our meals finally came out. Fish sandwich came with lettuce and pickles, was ordered without didn't say anything because it would probably be another hour to get a new sandwich at that point. Pasta meal was flavorless goo. Ranch had spicy garlic taste to it did not taste like ranch at all. Burger was ok. Server was nice enough but stretched to thin. We hurried and left....
