This was a great satisfying restaurant that me and my friends family went too. To start off, the atmisphere was quiet and nice and dark with christmas lights and silent tvs, along with a nice bathroom, but after gave a very depressing vibe. The tables were a little too small and chairs too small and hard. I ordered the beef brisket platter and it was very delicious! I like that there was a plentiful amount of barbeque sauce and a good ratio of fat to meat. Although still many mouthfulls felt it was dry with not enough fat. It has a nice consistency but could have much more of a smoky flavour with the sauce more subtle to appreciate it. Smokiness is the best aspect and more time to cook would give it the flavour. It didnt melt in the mouth as much as i thought but not disappointed. Yet for $26 it was a plentiful portion rhat j couldnt finish. I got the deviled eggs, expected three but got two. Was a little disappointed because they didnt have the strong mustardy flavour, and a little spiciness would make a huge difference. The yellow top was tasteless and it was quite frustrating but the texture was great. The potato salad no complanrs. The apple pie should have been warmer but pleasantly surprised. Meanwhile the beans were too sour for me and wanted less of a soup. At the same time the service was excellent and fulfilled all of the wishes. No problems with service and couldnt have bern better Overall do recommend this place for a quick stop at lunch but not for a formal occasion or special dinner.

I enjoyed the food the first time i ordered takeout. I ordered ribs with Mac and cheese and collard greens. Today I wasn’t impressed by the food or service. As the area is suburban/ rural there are limited food options near by. As healthcare worker at nearby hospital, my meal breaks are limited so it’s importent to order in advance as it takes 15-20 mins for meals. I called the business phone number for over an hour with no answer. I decided to take a chance and drive over, and to my surprise it was opened. When I entered, I confirmed if I was calling the correct number. The gentleman who took my order confirmed it was in fact the correct number, but said “at times we get busy and can’t answer the phone” and apologized. I can understand being understaffed as healthcare professional but I just found it to be poor service to not answer for over an hour. Just for some perspective this is not a huge establishment and when I arrived there were 5 people seated. I order seafood gumbo and 6 wings, pay, and receive my receipt.I wait for the food 15 mins and my order is ready. He asks me to pay again. lol I get the food back to the hospital and the gumbo is delicious, but the wings have hair. This will definitely be a last experience for me. (Meal approx $19)

I really wanted to like it but it was just not meant to be. I order a sliced brisket sandwich, side of Mac&Cheese, and a side of slaw. The brisket on the sandwich was some strange combination of sliced, and pulled. Typically when you think of brisket, you think of the nice slices that bend if you pick them up but not break. This brisket was not that brisket. The slices just fell apart because it had been overcooked and the pulled sections of meat, some of which were as long as my finger. Brisket is typically sliced against the grain so that is easier to eat, not with as was with my sandwich. The brisket was also very wet, like it had been sitting in juice all afternoon, which left me with a very soggy bun, similar to if you have made pulled pork in a crock pot. It was also pre-sauced. I had ordered 5 different sauces on the side because I wanted to try them all and decide what I wanted in my sandwich. Big disappointment. The sauces however were all excellent and all clearly homemade. The Mac side was delicious as was the slaw. Next time I pass through town I'll swing by for the sauce and to try their Cajun but I'll probably pass on the bbq.

One of the things I totally dislike doing is giving a bad review of a place that I have visited. The wife and I are visiting our daughter in New York and they both are telling me of this place that has great BBQ. So, with that in mind and being from Texas and loving BBQ, we took a little Drive to go visit this place. We were greeted with friendly faces and great attitudes the folks here were just superb and sweet as can be. However, their food was not. We ordered for 4 people. I got the pulled pork sandwich which smelled absolutely scrumptious and had me salivating all the way back. Like a just awakened hibernating bear I tore into my meal with great hope and expectations only to be disappointed and let down. I was left whimpering and sad eyed like an abandoned puppy out in the cold and rain. What looked and smelled like a "to die for" meal tasted like burned sawdust with pickles. I gave it the good ole college try but I just couldn't go through with it. Took 3 bites and that was enough. Into the trash it went. NONE of us could finish our meals as they were all equally bad. I'm told this place may have gone through a change of ownership and that it apparently has affected the quality of their product. So, if you're going to visit here be wary. Maybe try to sample...
