Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Shawnee

I remember Sonic's from when I was a young girl, They always put plastic animals in your drinks. Everyone collected them. They would bring your order to your car on roller skates. It was an event to go to Sonic. A real treat. Now it's just another fast food joint. They're not even all alike anymore. What happened to those days? Now it's average food, fast, at a high price, I'm not that old. What happened to pulling into a full service gas station& getting service with a smile, the going to Sonic for a cold drink & getting entertained from the guys , & girls on roller skates, and getting a little prize in your drinks. Felt rushed as I was ordering, she kept asking "Will This Be It" after everything I ordered. I order like 8 things. Almost like she was low-key trying to force "This to be it" sonic and their Reverse Psychology, The Rascals. Also got my drink size wrong. I ordered 3 items that contained chili and cheese. The portion of the chili and cheese I received, you would think it's their own personal stuff on how much they are trying to save money. The Large chili cheese tator tots I got seem like a smallish large but I digress. Asked for ranch on the tots but gave me packets instead. Not a great experience but not horrific I guess. Most of the displays didn't work, the person on the intercom didn't repeat my order or tell me the price, when I told them it wouldn't take my card the young lady that brought my meal acted like I was dumb and didn't know how to swipe my card and tried another 6 times while giving off multiple sighs. Kind of frustrating but the food was pretty good....either that or I was really thirsty and hungry from skydiving all day I couldn't tell. I'm sure it they had functional equipment this wouldn't have been an issue so I can't get mad at the people...
