Well did like this place until today. I just moved to Shelby so I called to place a carry out order the lady said dine in only so I said ok I'll go somewhere else and she said sir you can come in and sit down and when you get food get a to go box and put your food in it. I said ok I'm almost there. So I went in the lady ask how many and I said one and that I wouldn't be long and I need a to go box and told her what the lady on the phone said and she was just rude and said we're not supposed to do that so I said ok I'll just go to bojangles and lefted. Called back and talked to same lady and she kept talking over me but finally was able to speak and said mam you told me to come in and have a set order and take my food. She said I'm sorry and I just said it's ok I see how yall treat new people moving to Shelby you have a great day and I want be back and all my workers will start going somewhere else and you can lose our $500 a week when my workers come in everyday to eat since we are new around here. I'm looking at some places tomorrow for them to start eating at. Good luck with your sorry business. Should have known since it's been a help wanted sign up since I moved here in April. I know alot of people here and will definitely be telling them to stop going also after we find another nice quiet place to eat...
Read moreThe first time I went to Ken and Mary's, I was pleased. I went with my family that time. Then recently, I went by myself. I waited for a while then the hostess asked if I had been helped. I told her that I was ready to order. She walked away. Then the server came out with the hostess walking behind her. No big deal. But the server must have taken offense. My food was out quickly, but not what I expected. I let her know, but she was unfazed. I decided to give my pancakes a try. They were cold and tough. It was as if they were just thrown on a plate after they had been sitting awhile. The eggs were still warm. But everything else was cold. The mild disrespect from the server continued. I decided to be a good sport and tip anyway. My breakfast was only $9, so I left a $2 cash tip on the table. That's a 22 percent tip for being ignored and being served cold food and something that was unexpected. She let out an "Oh!" And looked at me like I was the jerk. It's a shame. It was so nice the first few times, I was there. And who knows? Maybe I was the jerk for leaving a $2 tip. But I felt unwelcomed. So I won't be back anytime soon. So I changed my review from 5...
Read moreWe go there a good bit. We like the food. I've never left a review, because, I don't like to complain. But, multiple times the waitress have ignored us, left us with no drinks. We had to walk to the kitchen door and ask for refills or things we needs because they were busy chit chatting. But, that is not why I decided to leave a review. Today we went in and a few minutes later a group of 11 people came on. They sat them beside us. This group was EXTREMELY LOUD, talking and laughing all at the same time. They were so loud and disruptive that I couldn't even hear my husband talking to me over our small table. I understand sometimes in groups it will be a little loud but when it's that excessive and they are sat directly beside us to the point I didn't even eat my breakfast because it was piercing my ears and I couldn't concentrate then the restaurant should tell them to quiet down. I told the lady that checked us out that we couldn't even eat or have a conversation with each other over breakfast. She made a sparky face didn't even say sorry, she brushed it off and said nothing to me. That's what upset me, I expressed my concern and didn't even...
