Limoncello Trattoria Napoletana — Restaurant in Sherman

I consider myself a foodie. I've eaten in the best restaurants in NY’s five boroughs and was raised in an Italian family that was centered around the celebration of great food. When I tell you that I have just eaten one of my best meals EVER at Limoncello Trattoria Napoletana, I'm not exaggerating. I started with the vongole posilipo - absolutely delicious. The clams were fresh and the sauce was superb. Served with perfectly charred crostini that had sopped up the wonderful sauce - Outstanding! Next I thoroughly enjoyed the Paccheri Limoncello. It’s hard to describe just how yummy this dish was. The fresh pasta, cooked to perfection, was topped with a combination of eggplant pesto, cherry tomatoes and burrata cheese that was truly exceptional. I finished with an espresso and a slice of creme brulee cheesecake that was the perfect sweet end note to this incredible meal. I wish I had thought to photograph the beautifully prepared and plated dishes - a feast for the eyes as well. The restaurant has a homey, feel good vibe and you feel welcome like family. This is my first time writing a review about a restaurant, but I felt like I needed to share our experience. We had a reservation and were looking forward to dining here. It’s a small place, and when we walked in, no one greeted us. We stood there for about 5 minutes before walking over to the bar to get someone’s attention to be seated.

Im a patient person but after sitting, we waited around 25 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. Multiple servers had passed us, eventually, someone asked if we had ordered which we said we hadn’t so they then, dropped off bread and menus and said, “someone will be with you in two minutes.” Another 10 minutes went by, and we still didn’t have drink menus or even water. Meanwhile, other guests who came in after us had gotten everything when they first sat, and orders already taken.

The restaurant is also very tight and loud, it felt like we were back to back with others which made it hard to relax. We ended up leaving because we didn’t feel taken care of at all. Really disappointing for a place we had...

From the very beginning, you are treated as family! The staff embraces you with open arms plus an occasional warm hug from their world-renowned Chef Giovanni!! Wow, can this guy cook, Mamma Mia!!! Now, let’s talk about the food. Every dish recommended was an absolute triumph. The flavors were so extraordinary and enduring that, while you feel completely satisfied, you find yourself eagerly anticipating the next bite almost as soon as each plate is cleared. Every plate that passed close to us looked insanely delicious. It was such a memorable night of outstanding dishes!
