Dave's Famous T&L Hot Dogs — Restaurant in Shinnston

This is one of our gotta stops when ever we are visiting from out of town. We even buy chilli by the gallon and take home to freeze (before Dave took over...not sure if they still do that).

While I didn't personally visit, I ate 3 dogs with medium chilli, mustard, onions, and slaw that my wife brought home plus some fries. This was the first time here since they changed from just T&L to Dave's famous. Not sure who Dave is, but it didn't seem like he changed much. The slaw is a little different though. Not bad, just had less dressing on it. Too me that is a person preference, so I can't really complain.

The fries are all hand cut and good, but I like mine slightly crisper....again personal preference.

So only minor complaint is when you order a dozen, split half medium half mild chilli, it would be nice if they would label the top row medium or heavy. not a big deal as you can see the chilli flakes in the medium.

I also appreciate an owner that is engaged online and answers up on reviews. In my opinion out shows they care what's going on and seeks to improve.

Of course we will be back next time...

Five Star for the employees!!! The minute you walk in you are greeted with a smiley face. Immediately you are recognized and waited on or "We will be right with you." The employees are very friendly and provide you with great service, a beautifully displayed and tasty meal. On days that its way to HOT to want to heat up your own kitchen its the perfect place to retreat. Hot meal or cold milkshake, individual or the whole family. But.... Have you felt how HOT it is in there??? Its miserable! The fryer going, the griddle on, the heat from the warmers... These beautiful, loyal, cheerful employees push on burning up to provide us, the customers with a great experience. Never once shying away from their tasks, complaining or refusing any service because of it being to HOT in the kitchen. We all know how they feel. Why isnt there a better cooling system in place? This is a very popular establishment in our community. A cooler atmosphere would benefit both customers...

I come here after getting off of work in Morgantown and live in town for that matter as well and try to buy local and give our community the business but it makes it hard every time I get here around 7 they always make it a big deal like I’m a bother when they don’t close till 8 you can always hear it and see them till there eyes when I order literally just a dozen of hot dog and the fries with it! I come in tonight at 7:20 and they say the grill is already turned off and can’t make anything besides fries and a few other things and the other girl is like what time is it and she said it’s only 7:19 and the face and her heavy breathing says it all and she storms in the back and the other girl has to do it! Like I even asked you guys close at 8 right and she says yes you might as well say this place closes at 7 because they always are not wanting to make stuff around this time and give attitude I don’t know how many times I’ve seen her till her eyes when I come...
