So much promise yet so little fulfillment. Gibby's ice cream is about the only thing this place has going for it and thats not saying much. As a person who has eaten all over the country i have had 2 experiences from Gibbys. I once had a burger from Gibby that was so good that i thought i was actually eating a burger made by chef Gordon Ramsay. Or at least that is how it would have tasted if he made one for me. Now naturally after experiencing true burger perfection. 2 days later i order the same burger with fries. Now remember that i am very hungry so naturally you would rate anything as delicious when you are in this state of mind. The burger i ordered tasted like it had been sitting under a kitchen sink for almost 3 months in 97 degree temperature in mid july. The patty was like eating cardboard and the bun was squished and as my teeth sunk into it (yes i ate it because i was hungry and i was expecting it to taste like it was created by Simon Cowell and Martha Stewart) but as my teeth sank into the burger i felt and heard the loud crunch that you would hear when you bite into a fresh apple only this sound was coming from the 1 inch thick slice of onions that was on my burger. After the tomato which was thicker than the pattie burst forth on to the sides of my cheeks i realized that i was eating a burger that was by far a complete disaster. And not even fit to feed to a church mouse. Hoping to still find some nourishment from the meal i tried to eat the fries and they were far to few and half of them were burnt and greasy. You get more taste and bang for your buck at McDonald's for 10 bucks than you get at this promising yet disheartening place. If Gibby's ever found a way to make the burger that would make a master chef giggle with joy and pride. Along with giving you an amount of food that matches what you paid for then Gibbys could actually be a true establishment with true excitement. But for the price you pay you should get more taste and quality then McDonalds.
The staff are great However and they are very friendly and inviting. If you want decent ice cream along with cardboard and burnt French fries with the potential of getting a hamburger made in heaven every blue moon then this is the...
Read moreI think they kept the name to try and keep the customers. They definitely lost one who visited weekly in the summer with five kids. We just visited today to try the ice creams out it seems like all the products went cheap & prices went up! They took out the Hershey's hand scooped & replaced it with Velvet so that took out the only two flavors I would buy. The only thing I would get from here beside that is the raspberry delight but they were out of raspberry and churros! It was a mess from the moment we walked in the door the soft serve vanilla ice cream seems different as well it literally has no taste. My mother ordered a wet moment Sunday that was just a couple of vanilla ice cream and dry nuts there was no syrup in it whatsoever I guess they make their own. Because there was nothing I liked I just thought I would go with a vanilla ice cream in a bowl with cheesecake bites and regular caramel syrup. That was awesome a bad idea there's literally no flavor my caramel was like homemade caramel is very thick. They also don't carry bowls just cups so you get a tad bit of your toppings then have to eat 2 3 in of plain vanilla ice cream to get any more of sad topping. I honestly feel ripped off the worst $30 I have ever spent in my entire life! All five kids went with cotton candy hand scoop pretty much $5 for two scoops they didn't really care for it either. It's so sad to change such a good thing I do not feel like you are worthy of keeping the name. We are definitely going to start driving to Tony's or Dairy Queen from...
Read moreA fun stop for food!
We visited to have lunch here during the Shinnston City Wide Yard Sale. We have stopped here for many years in the past. The establishment has been redone with lots of fun decor on the walls. They still have a great menu to choose from when it comes to regular meals and dessert. Lots of ice cream choices!
We did have 2 people in our party who were looking forward to the Cheeseburger salad, but it is no longer offered so we found some other yummies.
The restrooms were very clean. No changing table. Boosters are available for children.
The dining room is in order with napkins on the table.
Servers were nice and polite. Food came out in a timely manner. Drive thru stays busy.
The only reason I gave a 4 of food is because everyone in our party got salads and the lettuce seemed to have needed a good spin. Lots of water.
Other than that, an amazing trip as usual!
Drive-through, in-store, takeout and dine in available. Family friendly. Credit and debit cards accepted. Coffee available.
wheelchair accessible parking lot and entrance. Free parking lot and...
