So this is going to be a mixed review, slanted toward the positive(and granted a bit of grace considering the local storms and power outages this week) This is a great family-style restaurant. My first point of critical curiosity is that we had 11 people in our party. We told the older gentleman that we were ready and that the final car in our party was in route and just about 10 minutes from joining us. The table was already set up for the 11 of us. We knew the others were on the way, without cancellation, however the restaurant declined to seat us until the remainder of the party arrived. There was not quite enough standing room in the waiting area for me so I was standing half in and half out of the waiting area sort of leaning against the corner. The man was very polite, as recitated the policy of not seating until the party arrived. I can't deny being slightly irritated, but it might have just been hunger. Moral of this story- arrive all at once or prepare to wait, some in your party will be left to stand as seating in waiting near the door is limited.
Now, for what we came for...the restaurant had no ice,and no lemon, but that might be due to the storms, but the drinks were chilled so it was all good. The prices are really good. The fish could have used a side of tartar sauce, ss none was made readily available. It was a busy dining room in particular, so I don't mind that I was nearly finished before our server could check on us. (I do tend to eat fast when I am hungry)
One of the children said she would have a fried pie for dessert. The curious observation here is that the dessert was fried and brought to the table the same the same time as all the entrees. But this is a casual restaurant. I wasn't spearheading this little family event, or I would have insisted the dessert be returnrd ktchen until it was time to eat it. Then of course, the extra side of fries that was ordered for the child's meal was never brought to the table until almost all the food, including thebpie was done, and we had to ask for the fries a second time.
So the food is great, I am sure the tartar sauce would have been, as well, and with just a bit of organization, the few hiccups would be fixed. I will definitely be dining there again. But you know, true family dining is like that. Somebody might like this, somebody wants that, lots of bustling a reaching, and absolute true perfect perfection rarely happens around the family table. You just roll with it, baby.
...and there's no real need to play Ms....

Tonight, instead of ordering on the phone like last time I went in and ordered in person at the register, and requested another â5&5â made of half shrimp and half oysters, plus a senior 4-piece fish. I told the young lady at the register I didnât get what I ordered last time, and I wanted them to make sure itâs right this time because all my wife really wanted was those fried shrimp. She told me when that happens just call up and tell them, and they will put my name down for a free dinner next time. She didnât offer to give me tonightâs dinner for free because of the mistake they made 3 weeks ago, which seems thoughtless on her part, but I let it go. Well, I drove home and again there were no shrimp. The kitchen ticket taped to the bag showed it exactly as I had ordered it, but NO SHRIMP were in the dinner â just catfish and oysters. I called, and the young man who answered said he would make me up a free 6-piece shrimp but that would mean my dinner would sit at the house and get cold while I drove the 30 minute round trip to pick it up, so I declined and told him I would just not return to Johnnyâs again. Thereâs another place 2.9 miles away that has good seafood, and I always get what I order at that place, so I guess I just wonât be back to Johnnyâs. ...

Today I ordered our usual at 7:10p.m. finally received at 7:39 per request when I called the order in for ketchup and hot sauce and of course utensils. When they finally brought out no ketchup, no hot sauce and no utensils in the bag. I asked the young lady as she was walking away could we please get condiments since none were placed in bag. almost 10 minutes later still no service I went into the restaurant and was rudely told by front cashier Jasmine went to get. I said can I get what I need please have been waiting for order now having to wait for utensils and condiments very rudely she smirked and turned her back. No matter how busy you may be personality and cordial behavior make up for an extended wait. I appreciate the good food here but several attendees need a lesson in customer service. It may be only $32.00 for our two meals but regardless of $32.00 or $300.00 spent try respecting your patrons not just select...
