Dean Park Pizza — Restaurant in Shrewsbury

Right from the start, the hostess seemed very flustered and confused. It was like she was lost. After a couple minutes we were seated and the waitress asked for our drink order. The place was very loud with some out of control children screaming. We placed our order and were waiting for it. The people at the table next to us had finished and left. The hostess cleared the table of the dishes but didn’t use anything to clean the table surface. She immediately seated new guests! Our food came which was pretty good. However, our waitress never came back to check on us even though she walked by many times. It wasn’t until we were done eating when she came to clear our plates and ask if we wanted anything else. She brought the bill and there was a charge on it for two sodas. The problem is we had one soda and one water. For these reasons I didn’t think the waitress deserved a tip. The two highlights of the experience were the food and the manager who was very apologetic about the mixup with the bill. She seemed genuinely embarrassed about this. Haven't been here in years so we decided to stop for lunch. Everything was outstanding. From the moment we entered, right up to our departure, the employees were welcoming and the service was stellar. The owners mom was there, and she was delightful. Making sure all of the guests were looked after and enjoying their experience, this elderly woman (likely into her 80's) moved about this clean and comfortable eatery with a slow and stately confidence, seemingly bursting with pride. But the star of this Shrewsbury pizzaria is the food! We shared the gluten-free pizza with eggplant and it was the best I'd ever had, bar none. The crust was crunchy and delicious, as was the cheesey eggplant toppings. We also split a turkey sub with everything on it. The roll was so soft and the contents were as you would expect, fresh and delicious. I'm not sure why I haven't been there in so long, but suffice it to say... this is now on the 'regular places to dine' list! Bravo...

As soon as I walked in this place, I was talked to rude. I never been here before,so I asked for a menu and the girl at the front rudely replied, the menu is right here!!! I let it go and still continued to order. I ordered a large Greek salad pizza, and as I was paying, I was asked if I wanted to dine in or take out, so we decided to dine in, as I went to have a seat the host came over and scolded me on how this seating is for dine in only. I explained to the host, I ordered food and the girl who took my order asked me if I was eating here, So at this point we felt like we were not welcomed here, me and my family decided we will just take the food home, no problem! So our food was ready and sure enough the order was incorrect, they gave us a large Greek salad instead of a large Greek salad pizza, at this point we got frustrated and asked for a refund.
