I'm more then disappointed I'm disgusted. First of all the start to the restaurant was not good. We went on a Thursday night and it was a little busy but not bad. It took about 10 min for a host to tell us it would be a 15 min wait to get a table due to the waitstaff needing to catch up. So as we're leaving to wait the host comes out and says o actually we have a table now. So it was a rather large booth and that was fine. The seating is a complete open floor plan and you really don't have much privacy but whatever. Our waitress comes rather quickly which was nice. We order a blooming onion to start. Something I've had at several restaurants and it's always a fan favorite. I thought it was something it would be hard to mess up but I was wrong. It literally had no flavor and was rather crunchy. It was so bland I could barley eat it. The sauce doesn't help so I thought maybe ranch would, but no there was no helping this bland no taste blooming onion. So then we ordered our steaks cause it is supposed to be a steak house. There wasn't much sides to chose from or mushrooms you could order sautéed on top. The menu however said every steak came with a mushroom au just. So ok I mean this must be delicious. I ordered the NY strip medium and my date ordered the porterhouse med rare. We both ordered baked potatoes as our side. It didn't take too long to receive them. They come out and she sets our plates down and as I'm looking at them. I can immediately see that they're covered in mushrooms. So I was excited but that quickly turned to disgust due to the fact that I could tell right away that the mushrooms were canned. I don't know about most people but for me I find canned mushrooms atrocious. I would be ashamed as a steak restaurant who decides for people to top them with these nasty canned mushrooms. Just some advice charge people an extra 2 bucks for fresh one's. What kind of person wants to spend 50 for a steak covered in these nasty canned mushrooms. I also asked for more rolls cause they only brought us 1 each and our waitress either forgot or just never brought us more. Then I cut into the steak it's extremely rare which I asked for medium. My dates meal said it was a porterhouse with a side filet mignon. There was no filet mignon and his was as well very very rare. It tasted okay I mean it wasn't anything special. However his porterhouse was extremely tough very hard to cut into and there was so much thought it was not good. Anyways we paid $116 plus tip. For nasty blooming onion with no flavor, nasty canned mushrooms and steaks that weren't cooked right. The baked potato was all right and the rolls are okay. The service was nothing special frankly I was mad that we even spent the money. If you want a steak restaurant in Nebraska do not come here I repeat do not waste your money. And if you like canned mushrooms you should be ashamed of yourself. Any restaurant that has can mushrooms should be ashamed of themselves fresh ones are not that expensive and they're not nasty flavorless canned outrageous disgusting things. Also if you have a steak restaurant please hire chefs that know how to cook them I should not order medium and get a rare steak and...
Read more-the horror! ..sat nite.. 10p closing time is posted... we got there at 8:50p.. there was only 1 other party of 5 there.. they were contemplating not serving us bcz they wanted to go home.. I now wish they had not let us in! Waaay Overpriced !! ..both our ribeyes were improperly cooked (a steak house that doesn't know what medium well is!?!? and medium/ medium rare!?!? ) my friend ordered the medium well n it barely was medium.. mine was scored rare! I was afraid to send it back fearing some kind of retaliatory tampering so I just accepted it... the meat was so full of Unchewable Gristle that more than half of it was left on the plate! ..my friends' as well. The french onion soup should have been called Salt Soup! n as for the au jus? ..it appeared to be the broth from the soup that had CANNED MUSHROOMS in it! (I'm glad I had the good sense to have it on the side) The baked potato was so cold (lukewarm/ room temp) that the room temp butter did not even melt on it! ..and.. I probably could have stomached all of That- except for the price!! $35 for a ribeye steak in Nebraska that wasn't even an Omaha steak!! Costco has better meat!!! (I grew up here in NE btw n it was hands down the worst steak dining experience in my life). -now... I am a very happy, positive person. I am also very objective, fair n reasonable. I waited 5 days contemplating on whether or not to write a negative review and I think it's only fair to let others know what they might possibly encounter So, -let's get real, people!! (Dude's!!) As far as I'm concerned: You Owe Me...
Read moreI was really mixed on my experience here. My steak was awesome. 5/5 on that. Everything else around the steak was plain though. The soup was just ok. My roll seemed like it came straight out of a bag off the shelf at Walmart. My baked potato reminded me of the ones I used to get in my high school cafeteria: complete with generic shredded cheese and pre cooked bagged bacon bits. I was not impressed with the garnish consisting of wilted lettuce and half a ring of canned pineapple. The "pan sauce" served with the steak tasted great, but was the consistency of water. Overall it wasn't horrible, but just not what I expect out of a roughly $50 dinner. Make a quality soup, find some premium rolls, learn to put some love into a baked potato (or at the very least stick it in the oven and melt the cheese), teach the cooks to thicken their pan sauce, and then put that all back together with the steak I was served, and this could easily be a 5/5 meal. Or just cut the price in half and that would more or less match up with the sides I was served, plus then I'd be praising the quality steak I got along with my discount meal.
Side note, I laughed so hard at the section of the menu that stated the cost of extras such as slices of onions and tomatoes. That's right guys, this place put a cost on adding a slice of onion onto your expensive meal. And to top it off.....there was a hand written note on my menu next to "slice of onion" that clarified it means "only one slice". HA. ...
