Their coffee is great! It's exactly the quality you'd get at your favorite urban coffee shop. The real story about Timber in my opinion though is the food. This isn't the chain style, "fancy convince store" breakfast sandwich that you need 2 of to feel full. It's not made in some factory, plastic wrapped, and shipped across the country. Timber makes their food on site, in house, by hand, from quality ingredients.
I go here regularly for breakfast, one breakfast sandwich and my mocha and I'm good to go. I'm still working my way through all of their baked goods, so far nothing has disappointed. I really liked the rhubarb scone.
Their staff is friendly and caring. They went as far as making my mom an off menu breakfast bowl due to her gluten allergy. You'll often find the owner working the counter.
The patio is dog friendly and offers a great view of the gorgeous wilderness that surrounds Silver Bay. Inside they have ample seating for parties of all sizes. They have local art for sale, free use tic tac toe games, and other merch.
This is a great place to stop whether you're a local or a tourist and I would say it's ~$10 cheaper than my usual at my old neighborhood coffee shop in Minneapolis. (with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGo now! This coffee shop was magic. I was passing by this weekend on a road trip and ducked in for a coffee, hoping for a snack. Little did I know what was in store. Lattes were terrific, staff was friendly, and the food was mind blowing. The menu consists of sandwiches and baked goods, but saying that doesn't do it justice.
My husband had a breakfast sandwich and I had a turkey sandwich and both were transcendent, as well as well priced. Eggs, cheese and bacon sandwiched between two huge, clearly homemade biscuits. Literally the most delicious biscuits I've ever had. Turkey sandwich, on fresh bread, was perfectly executed, with just the right crust on the bread, thick cut meat and fresh lettuce and tomato that had far more flavor than I'd dared to hope in November.
Last, but never least, the biscotti. I've always thought biscotti was Italian for "rock hard" and didn't see the charm. This, though... thick cut, soft in the middle, a crunchy top crust, dripped and drizzled with saddle caramel and chocolate. It was a revelation.
Seriously, if you're in the area, go immediately. Get lunch. Do NOT skip dessert. You can...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I have gone to this location once before and decided to go back on Sunday, October 20th. There was a huge line of people in front of and behind us. We got up to the counter and ordered one latte with oat milk. We then waited while everyone in front of us got their food and drinks and everyone behind us got their food and drinks. The shop was mostly empty by then. I went up to the counter to see if the latte was being done and I watched the barista put whole milk in. I asked her if it was for us and said we ordered oat milk. The barista looked at me and said "you didn't order that, this is what I made". I know for a fact that my husband ordered oat milk so I said we did order that and I need it remade. She then walked away, made us wait another 2 minutes, then came back, made it, and just put it on the counter by her away from us and left. She never said anything to us or called out my husbands name. That is NOT customer service. I regret that we have to tip at the register cuz I would have not given her a dime. She needs to fix her attitude if she's going to work...
