Home Slice Pizza — Restaurant in Silver Spring Township

Used to love coming here, not so much anymore. After tonight’s visit, I’ve come to realize that the woman who runs the register and the owner are very ignorant and not for the customer at all. The woman who runs the register and picks up the phone hardly understands English. She also does not know what vegan/dairy free means, and lacks knowledge of the menu items. As someone with dietary restrictions, it’s very important for me to dine somewhere that knows or can at least figure out the ingredients that are in the items that they are selling. They advertise vegan, gluten free, etc. items on their menu, but when asked what’s in their house made roll, they couldn’t provide an answer for me. The owner started getting rude towards me and was very unapologetic, unwilling to help me when I was trying to ask what was in the bread that they serve with the “vegan sub”. Ordered a large plain pizza, cheesesteak (whiz wit), and 5 boneless wings. The wings I'm pretty sure were frozen so okay. Saucing was light. Overall as slightly worse than expected. Cheesesteak was rough. Meat was meh, the cheese was barely noticeable, and the bread left much to be desired. I know this isn't Philly, and I grew up there so I know, but this was definitely one of the worst cheesesteaks I've ever had and that is in comparison to other Maryland and Central PA local pizza shops where I've ordered a cheesesteak knowing, going into it, it was going to be less than amazing. PIZZA: for $14 and based on the reviews, I was expecting this to be the best pizza around the area. Short answer: save your money as this is no better than any other local pizza shop around here. Home Slice Pizza in Walden is an absolute gem in Mechanicsburg, PA! This has become one of our favorite spots, especially with their delicious cauliflower crust option. It’s perfect for my wife, who avoids gluten, and it fits right into my low-carb lifestyle.

We love customizing our pizza with a meat lover’s base and piling on black olives, banana peppers, spinach, and mushrooms. Our kids are big fans of the Hawaiian pizza and a classic meat lover too!

The location is super convenient, just minutes from the Carlisle Pike, which makes it easy for us to pop in and grab our favorites. The staff is always friendly, and we really appreciate the option to mobile order ahead of time—our food is always fresh and waiting when we arrive.
