Wife and I stopped for lunch. My first impression was good. The place was clean looking but a little dark. There were a few too many tables and it was a little like an obstacle course. We were seated right away and served chips and salsa. The chips were good but I think they were from a bag. They didn’t seem fresh. The salsa was very good. We ordered queso chorizo dip and it was also good. I ordered a burrito and my wife ordered birria tacos. My burrito was ok but not great. It was rather dry and bland. I had ordered chorizo but it came with ground beef. I asked for some sauce to put on it and they brought me a little tiny cup that was only 1/3 full. I was surprised that it didn’t come with rice and beans. It was just a lonely burrito on a plate. It would have been nice to have some refried beans with my lunch. My wife said that her tacos were good too but she didn’t get any rice or beans either. So, because the burrito was dry and only warm, I give the food four stars. I give the food three stars for value. The service was very good. We got our drinks refilled and more chips very quickly. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The last thing is atmosphere. It was getting pretty loud when we were getting ready to leave. I think that if the place was full, it would be too loud and difficult to get around. Final thoughts… The menu was kind of limited but that may be because they have just recently opened. The prices were a little high for what you get (no beans, no rice, no pico, and stingy with the hot sauce). Our bill for lunch was over $50 with the tip and I just had water (my wife had a soda). On the plus side (and this is a biggie to me) they didn’t charge for using a credit card! We will likely go back. They are just getting going and like I said, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the service...
Read moreFriday supper. Was very busy as restaurant recently opened. Was kindly greeted and wait time was minimal. Was taken aback by no booths only tables and they were way too close together as to try and get as many tables in the space as possible. Very crowded. Was brought chips, beans and salsa. All were good especially the beans. Fountain drinks and agua frescas. Okay menu. Ordered pork molé dinner, barbacoa dinner, one quesabirria taco, gordita de Chicharron and chicken tenders. Chicken tenders were good. Molé dinner only came with rice but no beans. Beans would have made that dinner perfect as the pork molé was delicious. Rice itself was made perfectly as in fluffiness and doneness but had no flavor. Very disappointing. Barbacoa dinner came with rice and warm macaroni salad. The barbacoa was delicious but a bit dry. Macaroni salad was not to my liking as it was warm. Would have loved beans instead. Chicharron Gordita was delicious. Quesabirria was disappointing as there was barely any meat and all cheese and not much flavor. Will...
