California Bakery — Restaurant in Sioux City

This is Salvadorian comfort food. Did you a good job and I would go back in fact I have. It's not Mexican and to me doesn't even resemble Mexican although they do serve some Mexican dishes. However, that's not what I go there for. If you are newbie, try Pupusas. Cheese pupusas is a good start. If you're slightly more adventurous try the revueltas (mixed) pupusas. They have a great bakery with fresh Salvadorian treats. Until remind you of a Mexican bakery. Lots of different types of bread not as sweet as an Italian bakery....

Excellent food, both Mexican and Salvadoran. One of the best restaurants in Sioux City, especially compared to cost. Doesn't look like it but it is very, very good. Happy employees, pretty nice customers too! I had Salvadoran tamales today. A little different! The pupusas are good, too. The prices are excellent. Not a lot of room in there; order it to go, then head down Hamilton Blvd to the Missouri River...

Pupusas are my favorite food in the world, and California Bakery does not disappoint. The pupusa filling was especially flavorful, some of the best I've had.
