The Barrel House — Restaurant in Sioux Falls Township

Update: I tried to reach management at the email listed on their website and this is not a valid email. This was my second time at the Barrelhouse. The first visit was alright. I ordered the Korean Bao Bun tacos and I enjoyed them, but it wasn't much food for the price. My fiance ordered the pizza which he liked, but which came with whole slices of cheese on it not fully melted, which was weird. The second time, my fiance tried the pizza again. He said it seemed like an entirely different pizza. It did not have whole cheese slices on it not melted. He liked it. I ordered the fish and chips and subbed my fries for the Portobello parmesan mushrooms. I ordered the fish mainly because of a review with photos from just 3 months ago. If you scroll, you will see the other fish pieces this person received and the then look at the fish I received. The flavor was okay, but seemed like dirty oil it was cooked in and the pieces are CONSIDERABLY smaller than what I thought I was getting. The mushrooms had no parmesan on them at all and unlike what the menu stated, these were not fresh mushrooms. I didn't finish them, they were disgusting and they were a $2 upcharge. We like the atmosphere, but service has been so so the two times we have been and we are unsure if we will be back for...

I'm traveling for work and decided to stop in. Ordered a build your own burger with pepper jack, onions, jalapeño, and brisket. My side was a side salad. The salad was great. Everything was fresh and cold. The burger was OK but not great. The menu points points out that all burgers are cooked medium well. That's not my preference, but OK. Mine had no pink at all, was dry, and tasted like it didn't even have salt and pepper on it. The only flavor at all was the cheese. It was disappointing, as the burger was of good size, the onion and jalapeño were great. The brisket... well, I'm not sure what I expected, but 1/4" cubes of overcooked chewy meat wasn't it. Stay away from this add-on unless that is your thing.

I came here hoping they whiskey selection was good. They did not disappoint! I love that they had Stagg behind the bar. Excellent!

I came in at 3 on a Sunday afternoon. The bar was crowded with football fans! Awesome! The bartenders (2) were hopping and did a great job taking care of the crowd.

I would definitely come again. I would also definitely order something besides the burger. I read other reviews where they loved their burgers. Maybe it was a bad day, maybe a fluke, who knows?

We had never eaten here before....we came to SF to spend the night before flying out the next day. The reviews were good so we gave it a shot! We got seated and the gal came around to take a drink order, I ordered mine, my hubby ordered a beer they had advertised in their book of drinks, waitress came back and said that they no longer carry that beer, thw advertisement wasn't taken out. So then my hubby orders a mojito, waitress comes back and says they have no mint for the drink and if u have had a mojito that's one of the ingredients that make the drink what it is, so then he decided to order one of their flights, waitress said the process were $14-$15 so he orders one, waitress comes back and says that it's gonna cost $50, not the other price she thought, by that time our appetizer and meal had come out so he didn't end up having a drink at all. The jalapeno wontons we're amazing, the burgers we're ok, I'm not fond of 1000 island dressing but their house sauce was kind of like that, wasn't bad but would definitely not have it again. Onion rings were good but very small order. All burgers are ala carte so u have to buy sides at an extra cost! Not an awesome experience but some of the food was good!
