We ordered the fried pickles with ranch as an appetizer. We also wanted to order online rings but were told they were down a fryer so they couldn't offer onion rings. No problem, we chose fries instead. Our pickle fries were dark and smelled like they were fried in old oil, they even tasted like they were fried in old oil. I ordered a fried chicken sandwich, again it tasted like it was fried in old oil. I peeled the breading off and ate the sandwich. It was OK. The fries tasted fine. The service was alright, no complaints. We wanted to order a beer but they did not offer a drink menu, they did have some written on a chalkboard behind the bar. My husband had a BBQ sandwich, he said the flavor was good but had a lot of sauce that was overwhelming and also made the bun soggy.

This place lives up to its name. We were a little disappointed when we pulled up and it was in a strip mall, but once inside it completely read as a dive restaurant. Overall food was good, but there were a few wins and losses. Wins first…the French dip and Italian Beef were delicious (and way messy!). Our server was the only one and bartender too, and was clearly BUSY. Yet we waited for nothing and he was pretty dang friendly. Overall atmosphere felt good and people were clearly enjoying themselves. Losses…the onion rings didn’t hit. Heavy breading and super greasy, AND the ketchup is a strange homemade recipe; just bring your own. The mystery “BA Aioli” has a weird bite to it. The turkey club was great, just ask for the aioli in the side!!

Great little neighborhood spot. FYI, it has a different name on the outside of the building (Picklebarrel). That super confused us. Once you walk into the shopping complex it has The Dive on the restaurant though. It's an order from the counter & take a seat kinda place. They are very accommodating with changing the burger/sandwich toppings. The desk person/bartender was very helpful in giving advice on their beer selection as well. I had the green chili burger & an ale. Both were really good. Their fries were super crispy & I think they had salt & pepper on them. Also very good. One of our group had a chicken sandwich & said it may have been the best she'd ever had! Definitely worth a stop.

We visited an hour after this location's grand opening! As a result we were served plain wavy potato chips since their fryers were not up & working yet, which was fine. She did inform us of this before we paid. The cashier also told us they have more planned for decor & such but that didn't affect the atmosphere. It felt nice & welcoming. The lighting seemed dark to me, like bar lighting and there is a bar on the right wall when you enter, but that could just be because it is still a work in progress.

It has two individual unisex bathrooms. I can't say for sure but I believe you could get a wheelchair through the entrance door, though that has no automatic option. Although I did not check out the restroom my friend did and he said they're probably identical & felt they would be wheelchair friendly.

Seating is tables, no booths, with counter seating at the window looking into the mall. The wooden table chairs were larger than normal and extremely comfortable for a change! Though not a large space, it is arranged with room for wheelchair seating.

Since their menu is still a work in progress also, I don't know about kid friendly options but even with the bar right there, it didn't feel like a bar & there were familes dining as well. Menu had sandwiches, burgers, salad and the like, standard American fare. I had the Turkey Club which comes with turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato and aioli mayo and pickles on the side. The white bread was toasted. My friend got the Spicy BBQ Burger which includes cheese, BBQ sauce & jalapeños though he asked for it without those & it was no problem. Both were fine and reasonably priced at about $10 or less.

My friend likes their 12th Street location after work and loves having this one close to home. We can't wait to see it after they get it just the way...

I walked in for a carry out order and since I wanted to sample a lot of things I ordered a base Dive burger, Onion rings, and fried mushrooms. Carry out does fried food no favors and I know that, so I will be using that as a caveat throughout this review.

The Burger was nice. Pleasant. I enjoyed the roll and the beef had good flavor. I liked the pickles. It looks like they do them in house, as they have a lighter color than most do. I'm not sure about that though. I love onion rings, and while I think they definitly do thier own rings, I would personally prefer more rings of onions inside the batter as most of what I tasted was the batter. By far not the worst rings I've had, and I'm sure they would have been better served up fresh and hot on a table.

Now for the Mushrooms. I was not expecting what I got. I think they may be shiitake mushrooms, as they are not the button mushrooms I was expecting. It was a large portion and I worked on them, but the oil and sogginess just got to me. Again, had these been placed before me on a plate I'm sure my experience would have been different.

Overall I like the place. I could see going back and having a burger and a beer as it's within walking distance of my home. It's obviously a place people like to be and the people that work there have a pride in what they do. That counts for a lot.

I would also like to say that I was on the struggle bus to do a carry out order and the guy behind the bar took good care of me. I appreciated that a great deal. Now next time I go I will...

I recently dined at Dive Restaurant in Sioux Falls, and I was absolutely impressed! The atmosphere is a delightful escape, and it instantly sets the mood for a memorable dining experience.

🍔 The hamburger offerings here are exceptional. The flavors are vibrant, and it's evident that Dive takes pride in using high-quality ingredients.🍔

The prices are very decent and the dining experience is worth every penny, especially for food enthusiasts. The attentive and knowledgeable staff add to the overall pleasure of the visit.

Dive Restaurant is a hidden gem in Sioux Falls, and it's a must-visit for anyone seeking a taste of some great offerings. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this restaurant is an absolute treat for your taste buds.
