I've been going to this buffet on Fridays for Seafood Night for a few months now. I will admit that some of the buffet items aren't really that edible and for $27.00 it's not that great a deal, and for the additional $14 or so that you pay for the crab legs or lobster tails you get pretty sad looking food. Yes, there are issues with some tables not being cleaned promptly and being understaffed sometimes.
So why am I giving Robert's a 4 star review? Most of the seafood options other than the lobster and crab are good (the catfish is especially good if you are a fan of it) and I'm a fan of the salad bar and some of the hot veggie sides they sometimes offer. (I like the ambience of the place as well but that's my personal preference). More importantly, the staff here go out of their way to be the best they can to their guests. The customer base at the casino can be nasty, no offence, and for the employees at this casino (not just the buffet) to be able to stand tall and be the best they can says a lot about them. You have my respect as someone who doesn't even gamble at the casino at all and is here once a week at best.
It's more than what I can say for Sioux Falls; most restaurants here would collapse like a cheap shed if they had to do what Robert's does on a...
Read moreI am extremely disappointed with the direction this retaurant is heading.
As others have mentioned, Friday night "Captain Bob's Seafood Feast" was a main attraction for the restaurant, specifically for the all-you-can-eat crab legs. This is why I and many others have gone here for so many years. Now they are asking the SAME entry price, with $11/lb extra tacked onto the crab legs. I would've probably been more sympathetic towards the situation if they adjusted the entry fee to something more reasonable, with COVID and all I'm sure they arent doing as well as they used to. But everyone is affected by covid, not just restaurants but the people eating at them too. The fact that the management is completely fine with charging $27 per person while now charging EXTRA for the main reason for coming in the first place is a TERRIBLE move, and it shows. There was about 1/3 the amount of people I typically see at the restaurant on a Friday. Also, they added lobster mac and cheese to the line, but the "lobster" in it is imitation crab (đ¤˘), not sure why they'd label it as such.
Overall, very disappointed with the new changes and will not be coming back until the management gets their heads out...
Read moreWe were there for their Sunday breakfast buffet. It's from 7am-10am & we ate about 8:45, 9am? It wasn't bad per se, but my ham, bacon & sausage weren't hot. We do love how friendly and helpful the host and manager are though. They are truly wonderful!! They do offer a good variety with the ability to request cooked to order eggs, including omelets. There are pancakes, waffles, biscuits & gravy and a few different pastries. I am a big fan of the fresh fruit - strawberries, melon, pineapple, grapes - that I like to add to the vanilla or strawberry yogurt with some granola to make my own parfait! You make your own fresh toast and they even offer cream of wheat & oatmeal with raisins as a topping. Drinks are unlimited including white milk, chocolate milk, orange juice and coffee. However, the servers are not always the best at bringing refills. Some of that might be due to staffing shortages and they do at least come in nice large glasses! The orange juice is served in a bit smaller glass. Overall, we like this buffet day & time best. It's not something we do often, but it is nice once in awhile. The service from their host & manager help keep us...
