The Backwoods Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Sissonville

Staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. We called in an order for some of us working on Sunday (five lunches). Staff complained over taking large to-go orders. We paid all on one ticket to try and make it easier for them. We called the order in and waited an hour to pick it up so they would have plenty of time. When we got there half the food wasn't even ready, so we had to wait another 30 mins for a quesadilla. Should have checked the order there because two of the three chicken quesadilla's we ordered had no chicken on them. One was just cheese and mushrooms. They charged us for sides when they should have been included with the Backwoods chicken meal. Not sure what the upcharge was, may have been for adding mushrooms? But again we didn't even get chicken. When we called back to speak to them about the mix up the girl was rude and complaining about having to be there at all because she apparently got called into work. She talked to someone in the kitchen who said they had written the order down wrong. She said sorry and hung up. So we called back to speak to a manager. Atmosphere was horrible. Just walking up to the restaurant, there was trash all over the ground from where the staff had thrown drinks and cigarettes off the balconies. Server and hostess was not very friendly or talkative. Server did not greet us, someone else got our drink order. Waited 20 minutes before she even came over and took our order!!! Didn’t introduce herself, didn’t check on us when we were eating, she didn’t offer refills and I had to get up and walk to the bar for her to hand me silverware. She was on the phone whilst handing the silverware over. Bench was broken to the point of being able to rock in it. While having our order taken another server came over crying and threatening to walk out. Her kid was also running around and hiding under tables. Horrible! The cook brought out our food with food all over him instead of our server because she was too busy talking and while she only had 6 bar guests so she was not busy. I do not usually do reviews but I do not wish for people to be treated like this or to waste their money if this is the service...

I'll start with the good. The place was clean including the bathrooms. The people were friendly (both staff and patrons). Overall it wasn't bad. The food was the disappointment. It was average pub fare at best to below average. For the owners a Monte Cristo has turkey on it, not just ham. You basically make a deep fried ham and cheese, not a Monte Cristo. It was the worst Monte Cristo I ever had I'm sorry to say. The rest of the food was okay, nothing great, nothing bad, just food to fill the belly.
