I recently had a truly unpleasant experience at The Farmhouse Restaurant that I feel compelled to share. I had made a reservation through OpenTable for a special occasion – my mother's birthday. Unfortunately, this visit turned into a nightmarish ordeal that left me profoundly disappointed and frustrated.
The trouble began when the manager claimed he had tried to contact me multiple times to confirm the reservation. He insisted that it was my fault that the phone number on OpenTable was incorrect despite my name still being on their reservation list. I want to clarify that the restaurant was practically empty when we arrived, so the "busy" excuse didn't hold water.
What shocked me most was the manager's unprofessionalism and aggressive behavior. When he saw my name on the list, his demeanor changed dramatically. He became confrontational, accusing me of having a bad attitude because I was understandably upset about his lack of professionalism and accusatory tone.
The worst part of this experience was when the manager, in an incredibly rude and sinister tone, yelled at me, my mother, and my aunt, asking, "DO YOU WANT TO BE SEATED OR NOT?" It felt like a challenge rather than an attempt to resolve the situation.
At that point, I had had enough. Not only was the manager completely unprofessional, but he also managed to ruin my mother's birthday, which was supposed to be a joyful and memorable celebration. I have never encountered such a disgusting display of disrespect as a customer in what is supposed to be a "fine dining" restaurant.
I have dined at The Farmhouse Restaurant and enjoyed their food, but this experience has left a lasting negative impression. I sincerely hope the management takes this feedback seriously and takes steps to ensure that no other customer has to endure such an unpleasant encounter in the future. My family and I will certainly think twice before considering this restaurant again for special occasions.
Edit in response to John:
John, indeed, it is our absolute right to share our thoughts on an uncalled-for experience. The fact that you intensely reacted to a mere app glitch is truly perplexing. In all my years of dining at various restaurants and having friends who own such establishments, I have never encountered an intimidating and aggressive situation over such a trivial matter. We intended to celebrate a birthday at your restaurant and left voluntarily after feeling threatened by your confrontational approach (which you now continue via the Internet).
Regarding your claim of having to apologize to someone, it's unclear who that could have been, as there were only three people at the bar, and I was not raising my voice. Perhaps it was necessary for you to apologize to your employee, who unfortunately had to witness such unprofessional behavior – though that remains a matter for you to address personally.
I must emphasize that my response is not meant to engage in a fruitless argument but rather to highlight the concerning behavior we experienced. It's disheartening to witness gaslighting and verbal abuse, and I believe it's essential to bring such issues to light for the betterment of...
Read moreEhhh Not worth the price. I took my father here for his birthday. We made reservations on the patio. The ambiance was exceptional, as the name describes, its an old farm house set on a golf course, stunning views of rolling green hills and the putting green, its relaxing and quiet. The metal outdoor seating was ok, uncomfortable metal chairs don't make for a comfy backside but if I'm being super picky (which given what we spent, I am) we had a rocking table which made eating and having drinks tricky but it didn't upset the amazing views. Our waiter, David (I'm almost positive his name) was polite, tentative and friendly, He provided all around great service. There were 3 of us, 2 had the rib eye and 1 had the special flank steak. For $33 for a rib eye I expected a steak I could cut with a butter knife, iknow good steak and although this was good, it wasn't great or close to my expectations. My husband's flank steak was good as well, presented beautifully and all were served with unique potatoes, mine were purple and his were red pepper potatoes, I appreciate unique takes on sides. My Pomegranate martini was extremely strong and undrinkable. Let me add that Bananas Foster is my favorite dessert of all time and the chefs TOTALLY FAILED at this I don't know if you were trying to make a better rendition but it was so bland. Unripe bananas served between puff pastry with chocolate syrup and some kind of banana syrup (not the rum deliciousness it should be) it was hard to eat because the bananas were way too hard and puff pastry has no business being in bananas foster, it fell apart and tasted nothing as it should. Please fix this, it was only thing that was truly terrible. Our total bill for 3 people came to almost $200.00 that's 3 entrees, 2 salads and 3 desserts with 1 drink each. I find 200 too high for the quality of food served. I would gladly pay this for incredible food and rave about it but it wasn't quite there. However the views were worth the price paid so I'm on the fence. I'll say the ambiance is fantastic, service great and food good at best so if your not worried about dropping a couple hundred bucks I would definitely...
Read moreMe and six of my brood dined here for my birthday and we really enjoyed ourselves. When I was choosing a restaurant a few days before, I realized my options were quite limited given my birthday was falling on a Monday and so many fine dining establishments are closed on Mondays and often Tuesdays. So The Farmhouse was one of the few that were open and I am so thankful this was the case otherwise I might've landed elsewhere.
Once I reviewed the menu, saw a few photos of the place and the food, I grew rather excited and rightfully so, as it turns out. It is located in a picturesque setting, the building's grounds and exterior are lovely, as is interior and the ambiance. We were greeted and seated promptly by Alex who would also be our server. Hats off to him. We received excellent service throughout. He was attentive, gracious, accommodating and skilled. He was even kind enough to oblige my request to take a couple pictures for us before we left.
The espresso martini was top notch. For appetizers the table tried the calamari, roasted Brussels sprouts (yum), chicken noodle soup, and the shrimp (much like bang bang shrimp but it's called something else here I can't recall at the moment). Everything was delicious. My mom is a huge calamari fan and she says it was one of her favorites here. I agree. The shrimp was amazing too. Well shucks honestly everything was. Several of us had the salmon, another had the crab cakes, one had a burger, another the pasta carbonara.
Everybody was very pleased if not raving about their food. Next time I go I really want to try the bison short ribs (and everything else I'll try subsequently)! Now about dessert... this is my forte...I had the pumpkin creme brulee and let me tell you my mouth is watering now. I loved the seasonal spin on this classic. It was so good! Alex even put a birthday candle on the plate as he heard my mom say it was my...
