I am the wife of a Combat Vet. I am also a team driver OTR with said husband. This morning, I approached on foot the Silver Peak Espresso to grab some much-needed java for our drive to Illinois. As per the norm and having been a former resident of SV who has prior ordered coffee before walking the trail with my doggle in 2019, I approached the back door with a brightly lit OPEN sign next to it and opened the door. I greeted the young lady inside with a cheerful good morning and asked if I could order some coffee. Said young lady had an emotional fit; stated this was a drive-through only AND that I could go stand in line behind the cars in the drive through. I offered to bring my rig (knowing it wouldn't fit) through as I was amazed she would even have the audacity to suggest for a pedestrian to stand in line with the vehicles. First of all, that's unsafe. Second of all, the mouth and attitude towards a potential customer is unacceptable. Additionally, perhaps Ms. Devin ought to consider putting up a NO WALK-UP sign. After all, not everyone knows the rules have changed especially being gone from home for several years taking care of a sick Marine Vet BIL in Kentucky. Finally, as a Blue Star Mom and wife to my Vet husband, let me just say that apparently, you didn't learn some bearing, honor, or kindness while your husband served. Thank you to him for his sacrifices, his service, his honor. Too bad you didn't pick up on his example.
Thank you Devin also for your running of your mouth on the phone when I called to speak to the owner.
I'm going to remind you of something, ma'am. Without us truckers, you wouldn't have your stuff.
Keep that in mind next time you feel inclined to be so...high strung.
I won't be doing business with you ever again and, I will be sure to get the word out with other drivers looking for coffee. Go elsewhere. Haugen MT is right down the way.
UPDATE: Ma'am, lying is really sad. Had I been screaming, they would've heard me at Wal-Mart. Also, screaming while husband is driving 80K pounds? Not exactly smart or safe. I see common sense isn't your forté. Furthermore, when I go off, I do it in my mother tongue of German. Lastly, the only "threat" made was that I was going to report you. I did just that. Good luck for your future. I do wish you the best along with some wisdom on controlling yourself. If you're overwhelmed as you seemed to be this morning, please hire some help. There are lots of great people in the Valley able to alleviate some of your rush hour...
Read moreI get that people run late for work, but I stood outside the coffee shop for 12 minutes before knocking on the window asking the girl what time the shop opened only for her to tell me another 10 minutes. She could’ve just told me that when she saw me walk up to the window but she seemed annoyed that I arrived before she was ready. Google maps said shop opens at 6 AM, I got there at 6:03 and the employee arrive shortly after. Just acknowledging my existence as she walks by the window several times getting things ready would have made all the difference. I walked away with no coffee because it would’ve been almost 6:20am at that point. 6/6/23 (parked across the parking lot because I had a camper attached...
Read moreWon't come here again. I have spent ALOT of money here with the previous owners. Was told that my coffee card would be taken and transferred to the new owners once they took over. Its been a couple months since I've gone there so I decided to stop there today and she threw it away and said she could give me a new card. I had 3 rows of punches completely punched and 4-5 on the other 2 lines of drink sizes. Those drinks I bought each cost 4-5$ each. That's a lot. I know that one free drink isn't or shouldnt be such a big deal but then why is it to the new owners? I don't think it should have been honestly. So I won't be going there again just on principle really. Wasn't to...
