Powdered milk creamery is a wonderful location it's right on the water on Putnam Pike route 44 where Greenville meets Gloucester and we were there for the 4th of July and the water was beautiful they were boats everywhere and there was just private and random fireworks going off in every direction a lot of people go there and park there on the 4th of July because there's always fireworks but because it is a private show it's a little bit different than if you went to like the city or towns firework show so anyway this creamery is very expensive I've never seen one so expensive it was literally they were asking like $5 and change for one scoop of ice cream I'm thinking I can go right up the street to the supermarket and get a whole gallon for that price so we did not purchase any food there or ice cream but they have picnic benches and like I said it's right on the water it is a busy four-lane main road so do be careful if you bring your children and they do have signs that says no dogs allowed I don't know why but I don't think that's right because it's a beautiful place with picnic tables out in the grass and I brought a dog there once when they were closed and nobody said anything to me cuz they were closed so just be mindful keep a good eye on your children there cuz of the busy road and the water and if they're open I probably wouldn't bring my dog unless it was a small dog and the weather was okay where the dog could stay in the car with the windows down now remember a dog can die in a car when it's 70' degrees outside. So I hope this helped answer your questions beautiful location very expensive ice cream good place to sit on the 4th of July at 9:00 p.m. and protect your children there from the road there is a parking lot off street parking okay thank...
Read moreReally great ice cream, friendly service, fair prices. We stopped for the first time thinking we'd get some hot dogs, fries and ice cream for dessert. Well, our mistake - they don't sell food. So we went next door to the pita place and got a burger, fries and a wrap. While we were eating the pita place food, Powder Mill got very busy - a super long line - and so we thought we weren't going to get ice cream after all. But sure enough, the line moved quickly, and by the time we were done eating there was no line, so we went up and ordered ice cream.
Very fast, friendly service. Lots of staple ice cream options, some varieties I haven't had before. Tried white chocolate caramel pistachio - which was great.
As soon as we ordered, there was a massive line again - so I guess it's just a matter of getting lucky on the timing. Still, while we ate our ice cream we did notice that the line still moved pretty fast.
We sat on the brick wall in front of the place and ate our ice cream there. I mean, we were basically eating in the middle of a parking lot - so the ambiance isn't necessarily 5-star or anything. I guess most people must take it and eat it in their car, because from what we could see there wasn't really a dining area. But we were happy enough to eat it on the wall and just enjoy some one-on-one time together. If we had a big group, it might be kind of a bummer to not have a table we could all sit down at together and share our ice cream, but that's just not what this place is for. Definitely a nice spot to stop with a kid and share an ice cream and a moment.
The ice cream itself was great, and excellent portions for the price we paid, so I would definitely recommend...
Read moreStopped by the Powder Mill Creamery many years ago on the way home from the CT and discovered that they had amazing rich ice cream. It is a distance from where I live so I don't get to go very often. My favorite flavor is the White Chocolate caramel Pistachio but there are many options. Today my friend had pumpkin ice cream with chocolate sauce and peanut butter cups on top. She liked it. Powder Mill Creamery is located by a scenic lake with picnic tables and benches with a lovely view that provides a great place to enjoy the ice cream. They have added Mediterranean food that I haven't had a chance to try. A good place to stop and relax while traveling. Stopped by again yesterday and thought that I would add a picture of the view from the benches by the water. The ice cream was still amazing and the view enhances the experience on a lovely...
