I never do negative reviews. I've been going back and forth about whether to post this, but I've decided it was frustrating enough to warrant a review. We've gone twice before while living in Smithfield and had good experiences. When we went a few days ago, it was... not great. When I got my pizza, it didn't have sauce. My husband's pizza arrived with big portions of the crust cut off already. Both had weird huge chunks of burnt material - I assume from other pizzas earlier that day - pressed against the bottom. I don't usually bring it up when food comes out wrong, but this was a little too much. I tried to talk to the server when he came back to check on us, but he straight-up ignored me and walked away. It was so weird. And then when we called him back and I said I had no sauce, the server didn't look at me lifting up the toppings to show bare crust, he just went to the kitchen, came back, and said "no, they said they put sauce on it." Maybe they think they did, but I promise I can both taste and see lol. Then he suggested maybe I'd gotten confused by the pictures on the menu or something? Idk. Like, my dude, just look at my plate two feet away where I can show you there is no sauce.
I know that foodservice is hard. I try to be kind to foodservice workers, and I would've understood if the restaurant was slammed, but it was almost empty (when we walked in, the wait/kitchen staff weren't busy, just standing and talking). I also would've totally understood if he came back and said "Whoops, we did make a mistake, sorry" and just brought a cup of sauce. But it felt like I was being actively ignored and kinda lied to for no reason? And I didn't even get good food out of it. Just bland bread with cheese, canned pineapple, and burnt old food on it. I like to support local places so I'm bummed that I don't want to go...
Read moreWe went the other night and the service was really slow and not good at all. We went as a big group, which they knew ahead of time. And when the starters came out someone’s salad came out with the wrong dressing and they didn’t get their salad until their food came out. 2 people ordered small pastas and ended up getting regulars but were told they would get charged for the small since that’s what they ordered. When the checks finally came out, they were both charged the regular still even though they told them they would fix it. It took us about an hour to get their checks and they asked if they wanted them to fix it and they told them if it was quick yes, but then it never got fixed. Someone also ordered a to go order and it came out when everyone’s food came out and since it took over an hour to get our checks that food sat there for that long. Another person ordered cinnamon sticks to go and it came out on a plate and it had to get sent back to go. We got there at 5:30 and none of us left until around 8. A girl had asked for her check because she had to leave soon and that girl had to leave and someone else had to pay for it because it took over an hour. One of the people messaged the owner and all that was offered was 25% off if they came back, but why would anyone want to come back after that? On top off all of that, we all had around $9 added on for a tip, when $9 per person was definitely not earned. I don’t think anyone in our group will ever come back. Really disappointed...
Read moreMy husband and I eat here very often. The food is really good, but the service is lacking. Because of this, we always call in our order for take out. As repeat customers with a lot of orders from this company, we do not get very good service - even when calling in. We are told when to pick up our order (which is the same every time) and even then, our food is sometimes undercooked, prepared wrong, not ready for another 10 minutes and we have to wait inside, and they never remember to give us our drinks without us asking for them. It is really uncomfortable and awkward as a customer to remind someone that you ordered a lunch special, which includes a drink after they already say, "Thanks for coming in." Or that your oder is wrong. It seems like the people over the phone don't ever know how to lead a conversation smoothly. To me it is really unprofessional the way they communicate and handle business. The only reason I still go is the food. But even then, I am completely fed up and unsatisfied as of lately. There are a few employees who seem to know what they're doing, but many of them need more training in customer service. When picking up orders, there are many times I am passed by employees as I wait at the counter without a word being said to me. Even being there for a few minutes without a hello, or we will be right with you, or any acknowledgment is poor service to me. I would not recommend the...
