First off, I really love Wimpie's. I go there often and will continue to do so. But on my last visit, I had the chicken & dressing. I had never ordered it before so I thought I'd give it a try. When it was served, the gravy which was poured over the top of the chicken and dressing had a translucent, almost see-through look to it. It had no chicken flavor and was quite off-putting to try to eat. I had to leave it alone and just eat my two side dishes. Most chicken gravies I have ever eaten were thick and rich with good chicken flavor and had a yellow to golden color to it. This gravy fell way short of that. I didn't complain to anyone about this while I was eating. When I went up to the cashier to pay my check and leave, he asked "how was everything"? I told him everything was good as usual except the gravy that topped the chicken and dressing and quietly explain to him what I didn't like about it. His response to me was, "well I didn't cook it." And that was the end of the conversation and I paid my check and left. I guess my point in all of this is to say again that I will continue to go to Wimpie's because I do like it there, but when they ask was everything okay and they get an answer that they really don't want to hear, I don't think the best response to that from the cashier is that I didn't cook it which is a statement which is redundant and the customers realize that the cashier didn't cook the food. I give you a 5-star rating for the restaurant overall the service is always good and I love the waitresses there and 99.9% of the time I thoroughly enjoy my food. I will definitely be back but I most certainly will not ever again order that chicken and dressing. And I hope that the young man who I paid that evening will come up with a much better answer then the one I got from him as...

I went there again for the second time in a lot of years. The parking lot was absolutely packed. The service was fantastic the food came quickly and the food was awesome. A real nice country diner type atmosphere and really family friendly. I would not hesitate to eat there again in the future.

Okay it's maybe a year later since I posted that last review and I've been back a whole bunch of times! The staff is always wonderful the food is always excellent. I had a delicious salad with my meal the other night that couldn't be beat. I would recommend this place to all my friends.

December 2022. This has become one of the favorite go-to spots for my girlfriend and myself. They have a great menu The people are really nice and you can't find a more wholesome family type atmosphere. At least until I walk in. I'm a little rough around the edges and I'll go way over the line sometimes for a joke. They still allow me to come in and that's cool. All getting aside what are my absolute favorite restaurants in the Chattanooga area.

Okay so now it's mid February. Teresa and I eat there fairly often and it's always been fantastic. They were short-handed one server last night and the service was still awesome!

All right so now it's almost the middle of May and the food is still great and the staff is still great. They had a new waitress And she was really good and friendly as well. Toward the end of our meal we ordered to take out meals for Teresa's friend and they were ready quickly and still hot by the time we drop them off. That's also a...

Went there last week for take out, hb steak, fries, Salad, Texas toast and another order of double burger and fries, get home and there are no fries at all in either order. I call the next day, guy , who I’m assuming is the owner, apologized and said “the next meal is on us”. I said cool but it might be a week or so. Well, we go back in tonight, and I tell the server what he said, she goes to talk to someone and comes back and says they are getting it ready. Go out to the car and wait, don’t take money or card bc the meal is suppose to be free, but it’s not, all he took off was the fries, said he didn’t tell me that it would be on the house. So basically, we only got what they left out before, nothing for our time, aggravation or only having meat and bread to eat the first time. And you would think the second time, the meal would be perfect!! But the fries and bread were half cooked. Oh well, I guess customer satisfaction and happiness does matter. Horrible customer service. We were trying to support the local small businesses, but what’s the point?? A chain restaurant would have stood by what they told me. Not going back again, what we got either night was not...

🟠⚪ Wimpies Country Restaurant is a small hidden gem for classic Southern comfort food. My friend and I stopped in for lunch, and we couldn’t have been happier with our meal. I had the smothered grilled chicken, which was perfectly cooked and covered in a rich, flavorful gravy. The cornbread muffins were outstanding—moist, slightly sweet, and just the right texture. My friend ordered the hamburger steak, which came with all the fixings and was cooked to perfection. Every bite was packed with homestyle flavor. Our server, Jamie S, was fantastic—attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed without hovering. The atmosphere was warm, rustic, and full of country charm, making it the perfect place to enjoy a hearty meal and good conversation. If you’re looking for real down-home cooking with top-notch service in a cozy, rustic setting, Wimpies is the place to go. We’ll definitely be back! GO VOLS!!!

If you're looking for good home cooking at a reasonable price with friendly and on time service, this is the place. We just moved here and while we are kind of filet mignon type people, this was just what the doctor ordered. I had the BBQ loaded tater. It wasn't pretty and didn't come out the way I expected it to look, but it tasted great. I'm bringing a menu home (server said it was fine) and plan to hit this place up for dinner breakfast. You can feel the "Welcome" in the air. I'm glad the lady at the gas station referred me. They have a giant chalk board with the specials on it. I took a picture of what stood out to me and it wasn't the pie. You can tell they really do care about their customers experience. I'll see you guys in the morning for breakfast. Thanks for a pleasant meal. It was very appreciated. 👍

Don’t believe the ratings. This is not even a 3. The food is boring. It has no seasoning nor flavor. The portions are small and the prices are high. $11.95 for a meat and three is outrageous even if it tasted good and was twice the size. The Mac & cheese is soupy, the potatoes are runny, and the green beans are mushy. The chili burger said it had homemade chili but our bet was that it was from a can. Previous photos show crinkle cut fries but they are no longer available. The iced tea is higher than Cracker Barrel’s. We drove 70 miles for this highly recommended restaurant. I wouldn’t come back if it was the only place open on Sunday.
