Happened across Dukes’s on way to a concert. AMAZING PLACE!! Nice, clean place. Lexie was our waitress and she was so friendly and amazing!! Our meal was off the wall good. Had chicken strip dinner for $10.99. I almost popped my eyeballs out when I saw the amount of food. The meal came with one extra and we choose coleslaw and it was so damn creamy and good!! Best I ever had! The chicken was 5 yes 5 pieces and it’s was so tender and juicy and cooked to perfection!! No stringy parts or fat or anything. The bed of fries it came with were perfect. Just the right texture. Not soft and not over cooked. Plus THEY WERE NOT ONE BIT GREASY!! For a woman who has a sensitive tummy this was the icing on the cake!! The cook is Carla and I would eat here every day of wk for life if I lived closer!! If you have the chance to go to DUKES, by all means stop in. You...
Read moreExcellent stop for the hungry traveler. Conveniently located adjacent to Interstate 70 at the Eighty Four exit (exit 25), in Pennsylvania. Yes, Eighty Four is the name of the town, ever heard of 84 Lumber? The restaurant is located inside a small truck stop, and it stays busy, which, in my opinion, is a good indicator of the food. Their breakfast is amazing, and the staff is friendly and attentive. The dining room is medium sized, with seating for what I'd estimate to be 50 people, and incredibly clean, no dust on the window sills, even. Only 4 stars this visit, only because the burger I had was a pre-made patty, other than that, it was delicious. The onion rings were light and crispy, and they serve Heinz ketchup.
If you're hungry and in the area, stop in and grab a bite, I'll definitely be back.
Go check it out, you'll be...
Read moreA restaurant in a gas station??? Sounds like a joke from National Lampoon's Vacation, but don't pass by this diamond in the rough. Full breakfast menu and a smaller lunch/dinner menu. Food is surprisingly good. Staff is very nice, attentive & efficient. Our waitress Katie reminded me of the old movies when waitresses were quick to refill your coffee with a, "How's everything, hon?" If you want cushy fancy decor, keep driving-- Duke's specials are written on the back of a paper placemat and taped to the wall. But it's clean, cheap, friendly and yummy. I recommend the liver and onions. Personally, I care about quality service and food over flashy decor, so it's 5...
