Moo Echo Dairy — Restaurant in Somerset Township

Good fortune smiled upon us when we stumbled upon this place. We were on our way to a rented cabin with friends and needed a bag of ice. We were in a hurry, but could tell that a return stop was was warranted, and after our cabin stay, we did stop again. This small, apparently family-run place is a gem. I hope the locals know what a treasure this place is. It’s got a deli counter, freshly made sandwiches, their own brand of ice cream (cones and quarts!) and a rainbow of specialty brands of foodstuff. It won’t replace your regular supermarket run, but it does augment it nicely. Lots of repackaged bulk foods and snacks. We don’t get through Somerset too often, but when we do, this will be a mandatory stop. Pittsburghers will understand when I say that this store would not be out of place in the Strip District. Did I mention there’s a spacious dining area to enjoy the meals you bought onsite? Well, there you go. It’s nice to know that places...

You have to check out this little gem. Lots of stuff for everyone. Me and the husbands favorites are the sasparilla soda, maple cookies, maple nuts, their hogies, meat sticks, interesting finds sometimes in the meat section, the gobs, and oh my my those cinnamon rolls I've had the raspberry, browned butter, and maple pecan they are incredible. Whoever makes those deserves an award or a kiss or something lol. They also have a lot of other things like hard to find flours, bunch of foods, spices, etc cooking stuff. Tons of snacks and cool old time candies and some old fashioned ones, prepared foods, etc. The soaps are also really lovely. I've tried them and bought as gifts. They serve food and ice cream from the deli too but I've never had it. We always stop there for snacks before fishing or hiking. My husband knows its my favorite...

Might be the best ice cream on the planet. It was that good. I got two scoops, butter pecan on the bottom and black cherry on top. The black cherry was unreal it was sooo good. My wife got teaberry I tried it and it was very good. The texture of the ice cream is perfect. Creamy and creamier lol. I will be going back to get more very soon. The homemade breads are good especially the sausage rolls they are just perfect. These people are living life with love in their hearts and it shows in the products they are selling. The pies, apple dumplings and goodies all look great, but the ice cream is perfection. If I ever open a store up and want to sell ice cream I would want Moo Echo to be my supplier....
