I was driving down the highway and decided to stop at this service plaza because I needed to get gas. I was running low on fuel both for the automobile and my belly. I got some chicken and fries and ate it so fast I forgot to take a picture first. Popeyes is Famous Louisiana Chicken. loVe THat CHICKEN šŸ—šŸ” Everyone should check it out. It's a turnpike service station location, so prices are astronomical, service amazingly slow, place is not clean and employees do not care. I did get to finally try their vaunted chicken sandwich which I liked. The spicy version needs to have some spice but the crunch was good.

Racist and rude employee named Vickie with blue lips was visibly irritated when she was asked a question about the menu. She rolled her eyes and sighed as if she had something better to do. Isn't that her job to take orders and answer questions about the menu? We then decided not to spend our money and said "nevermind thank you" because of her lackluster attitude. She then laughed in a sarcastic manner as we walked off. Because I heard her laugh, I went back to inform the manner of her despicable behavior and asked her to speak to her manager. She again laughed, pointed and said "he's down there". I then asked "can you please get him for me?" She then yelled and said "this nice lady wants to talk to you". Her passive aggressive behaviors were not appreciated, when I had done nothing but smile and decline to eat there due to her attitude. Jimmy the manger was a great listening ear. But Vickie should be dealt with. I will be...

The chicken, biscuits, and sides are as great as ever. Popeye's is still by far the best fried chicken chain, if you're outside the South and can't get Bojangles. Unfortunately, the service at this one is just awful. There was almost no crowding when I was there, but the rest of my family finished their Burger King orders before I could even place mine at Popeye's, let alone receive it. That's because the lady in front of me (not her fault at all) wanted a meal of nothing but chicken, and the cashier took 15+ minutes to comprehend that she didn't want a combo with sides or dip. My travel time was so thoroughly ruined, that I might as well have stopped in Somerset and gotten a nicer meal from a sitdown restaurant. "Louisiana fast?" Nope. Next time, if I want fried chicken, and I don't want to spend almost an hour in a rest stop, I'll get it from the attached gas station. That would still be better than...

Terrible. I was next in line. Actually let the guy behind me go ahead while I was deciding. As he finished ordering I stepped up and the girl at the counter said I’m sorry he was the last customer. I said excuse me? I have been in line since before closing time of 10:00 pm. Just then the manager came up to change out the cash drawer. She was in a big hurry, so big a hurry she couldn’t accept $15 more of sales. It wasn’t the cashiers fault. It’s the culture that the management sets. After I went to the Burger King service counter, I went back and told that manager what horrible customer service her team gave. I understand that this rant is not going to change a thing. Too bad for these people that will never flourish in life because they don’t understand the importance of doing what’s right. Sorry Popeye’s. You lost a customer for life and I will make sure I share my experience with everyone...
